Doubt any Vol fan would object. There’d be some idiots that object on Social Media, but they’d be doing fist pumps deep down.
I would be surprised if he made it past the vetting phase...and not for things that happened at Vanderbilt. There's been a few controversies with him at PSU.

If Campbell isn’t the whale, then I can’t imagine what other candidates would be considered one.

Fleck isn’t. Franklin isn’t (and he sucks as a human being). Lincoln Riley is but seriously doubt he would come here. None of the other SEC coaches fit the bill.

If it ends up being TE, I hope we at least get confirmation on here from AV on who the whale was because I am dying to know lol.

Elliott shouldn't be a top 3 candidate as I believe HC experience is crucial for us. But if Danny White does go that route, the comparisons to Pruitt need to stop after two.

1. He's a coordinator.
2. He's been surrounded by a lot of talent.

Fair comparisons completely. But the good news is, completely different personality types, will model himself after the Clemson model and not try to be Nick Saban 2.0. The Clemson Model will work for us if Elliott surrounds himself with a great staff and allows them to do their job. It's not a horrible hire, I think it could work out. But it's a gamble still, being a HC can overwhelm people quickly.

White interviewed Elliott for the UCF job last time and went with Heupel. What did he think? Elliott is too good for this job...Let’s hire a worse candidate instead? Of course not, if Elliott wasn’t good enough for the UCF job, why would he be the guy for this job?
