My biggest concern about Elliott is his coaching tree. He's never coached outside of South Carolina. So what kind of staff can he put together?
So it probably doesn't hurt that we have some guys still here that would be available should he decide to retain and just fill gaps.
This I agree with, im nervous about what he could pull. But...
Elliott- HC
Streeter- OC/QB
Graham- RB
Tee- WR
Osovet- TE
O Line who knows
Garner- DL
Steele- LB/DC
Secondary??? who Steele wants

People just **** on him because it's a low floor, high ceiling situation. People would much rather have the high floor, low ceiling after the last decade. I can't blame them, but if it ends up being TE, Danny White past hires speak for themselves. I won't be "over the moon" but I will be excited for a new start.
Yes! So ready

1. IDK didn't watch that press conference
2. I get it, its scary and seems like the same ole same ol. But Danny White has been an ACE in hiring coaches, I trust him.
3. If she did say that it was dumb, but you cant make someone say yes, and like you said its better than Fleck, Dykes etc....
I dont want no Fleck,Dykes or Franklin. They have to get this right this time or this may be our last chance

This isn’t a job where a coordinator comes in and tries to learn how to be a coach while dealing with infractions. That is setting him and you up to fail. It isn’t Elliott.
I don't think things are going to be that bad with penalties, White's name carries a lot of weight.

That staff looks good on both the recruiting and developing front. If you can keep it together for a few years.. Could have something to work with for sure.

I’d say Elliott to me is impressive. You never know what happens til he gets here and starts coaching but the fact he’s turned down several NFL teams as as an OC (I’ve seen Seattle, Philly, Carolina, and the Dolphins just to name some) and spent a good amount of time at Clemson as a play caller. I’d be happy with the hire. I think he’s a guy that could be successful here.

Another thing, we could keep Chaney as O line coach for the year to help with the learning curve a bit. Would be Elliotts offense but Chaney could coach the big guys.

I'm torn on this cause I'm not really sober but not drunk. Probably leaning drunk though. But I wanna like yer post. This is harder than picking coaches names out of a hat and seeing if sexton is their agent.
That was for @Voltrapnbama. He proclaimed that UT had hired Elliott, I hit him with a baby powder gif, and he turned into the tazmanian devil. We went back and forth and I asked him to "like this post if HE was sober". He was getting slammed by some other posters and I think he finally rage quit and possibly passed out. I hope he's ok.

You’re asking a guy who has never done it before to deal with any kind of infractions (whether they are minimal or huge), rebuild a culture, rebuild a roster, hire a staff, learn how to delegate, deal with boosters, deal with unrealistic(at times at least) fan expectations, and you will be measured by Bama, UF, and UGA. That is a LOT on a coach who hasn’t learned by trial and error at a smaller school. I think he is a fantastic play-caller, but he isn’t what we need right now.

White is here to do a lot of things you mentioned.
Elliott will bring the culture and attitude from Clemson.

A big job made bigger, situationally. Agreed.

The more I look at Elliot and consider his qualities and how good his body of work is..I would rather have him than Fleck or Cristobal or even Fickell, and I think those are all really good football coaches.

With one caveat..he has to be paired with the right defensive staff, but he has a great combination of creativity, personality, football intelligence, and gravitas...and those qualities are exactly what we need.

The ONLY downside to Elliot I can really think of is lack of HC experience, and because of our recent troubles that rightly concerns us, but should we really revolt if he is hired because of that ONE concern?

I have really changed my mind about it a lot today...now I am really really intrigued...🤔

If White is doing a lot of these things then he is doing exactly what Fulmer did: micromanaging. We need a coach that has experience being a coach. Pruitt came from a winning culture. Ours still sucked. There is nothing to suggest that bringing a Clemson atmosphere here will work. Elliot needs to season himself at a smaller school. It would benefit him tremendously. UT is one of the most challenging jobs in the country. We don’t need a rookie.

It has to be a sitting head coach. Not only is it not a job to learn on the job, but it’s especially not a learn on the job type when you have possible infractions coming from the NCAA.
