We are an embarrassment. Heck that’s an insult to embarrassments... idk what we even are. The floor this hire was Chadwell and we botched that. We go after Franklin but can’t even talk to Freeze? Hypocrites running the show... I understand we aren’t an attractive landing spot for big fish but damn if you are willing to throw around money like they claim there is no reason to not land Jamey Chadwell... I am not even sold on him but he beats the hell out of Sonny Dykes. Let’s just hope it’s Elliott at this point.

Not only are they hypocrites in regards to talking to franklin but not freeze... they said this isnt a place to learn on the job or try someone out. yet thats exactly what they are gonna do.
They don't mind looking us in the eye and lying to us.

I would give a significant amount of money to Tom Herman before I'd consider trotting out Dykes or Elliott.

Mark me down as also very curious about Jeff Fisher if it's between him and Dykes/Elliott.

Elliott would be fine and could put together a good staff. I would rather promote someone from the staff than 10-26 in the PAC 12 Dykes

The thing that I don’t get is that two Clemson insiders said a day ago that Elliott has never talked to UT. One was Anna Hickey, who has a great reputation.

The truth always comes out and Occam’s razor applies - this is not a highly coveted job but we wanted hope over substance. Franklin ate our lunch and used us to get better facility commitments from Penn State.

I’ll wait for our announcement of the next head coach before coming to any conclusions. But if it’s underwhelming, this University still hasn’t learned and it’s time we all take a big step back from it. I know I will. But I’ll wait to see who is at the podium.

Just preparingg you for the real possibility the hire is the tier below Elliot. At this point the AD has done a very good job of keeping it quiet. Hopefully he's landing someone we haven't heard about. But given our current situation it's very plausible we get a c list coach.

Just saying..it’s Jeff F***in Fisher wanting the tennessee job.that makes Freeze and Coach Fisher wanting the job on record.that’s the floor hire either one of them.I have no doubts in my mind with Fishers knowledge and years in the NFL his staff would be experienced All-Stars man.

I have to say this has been a very interesting coaching search so far. We've had planes tracked, dudes taking picture of UT planes at the airport on a 2006 flip phone, stakeouts at corporate offices in Atlanta, and the media making up crap to get clicks or sell subscriptions. I don't think one piece of information that has been posted by the media is remotely true. Nothing is real, no information is getting out. It could end of great or complete garbage. Who knows.

I really don’t think money matters. We couldn’t give the job away in 2017 and we made Gundy the same offer we’re rumored to be giving out this time around.

This job is not what we think it is, and somehow we forget that every 3-4 years. And I’m not throwing stones - I’m as guilty as anyone.

Wasn’t it Lowe who had all the smoke about Tennessee was Freeze’s dream job? And he carried on with it for a few days, if I’m not mistaken. Then things went quiet with Freeze and has stayed that way for the most part since a little bit before Pruitt was fired. Makes me wonder.

SF stated Freeze and Chadwell will not be interviewed/hired because of the bad publicity it would give the University with the pending NCAA sanctions. It’s about 99.9% confidence IMO.


Let me reverse course just a little bit. I just remembered AV stated a few weeks ago that if
Freeze was hired here it would mean Fulmer would be gone. FWIW.

So, let me get this straight. Just a few days ago this board was in lock step agreement that AP was a clown and has lost his sources. He was so far off on the AD search, we all were laughing. Now, he makes a post that provides you the negative confirmation bias the battered Tennessee fanbase was waiting on, and all of a sudden he is a prophet and we need to be really worried and concerned.

I can tell you this much, there is NO way DW signs up for this job to hire from a pool of James Franklin, Sonny Dykes, or Tony Elliot when there are coaches like Jamey Chadwell, Lane Kiffin, Tom Herman, Guz Malzahn, Billy Napier, P.J. Fleck, etc.

Are you all so damn battered and beaten down that you think DW, who is universally lauded as being incredibly smart and well connected, is going to hire freaking Kevin Steele or Sonny Dykes as our coach? Or that we're going to preach integrity and take a run at James Franklin but ignore Kiffin and Feeze?

Literally none of this lines up and you all are buying all this garbage.

Pal's is there still. University has built a nice on campus football facility. Summers family has bought old Model Mill and is reburbishing it. Old Second Level bldg just sold. Maybe last available bulk parcel downtown.

Watauga Brewery just opened a roof top bar.
