I don’t agree with this. You can get away with this at a middling MacAttack school where no one cares. We have a roster that can win some games and continue the climb out of this pit. Recruits need to see improvement. We’re still a very attractive school for football players.

Kevin Steele will kill this program. We couldn’t attract a better candidate three years from now IMO. No way we can recruit with a coach whose been given three years to live.

We didn’t need Danny White to usher in a new era of Vol football if it’s KS. Plowman could have done that and not even hired an AD.

Danny White would immediately resign if he had to trot out Steele. Lol you wouldn’t even need a press conference! Haha, that’s how sad the prospects of a Kevin Steele hire is.

We're going to be overpaying, no matter what. And the deal is going to be so loaded with sweeteners, finance and legal will choke while reviewing it.

Just like UT did for the AD. Ditto for any high-level assistants we attempt to hire. We're going to pay and pay and pay for years.

If it gets this program back on track the money won't be an issue. A rolling UT is one of if not the richest programs out there. Short term pain for long term benefits.

I think people are going to be pretty stunned by the contract if we hire Chadwell or Elliott or anyone on that level.

We're going to have to pay more than they're worth and make the contract really favorable.

This isn't an attractive job right now. We might lose more players to the portal than we can sign, NCAA penalties (reduced scholarships, reduced visits), a possible perception that the admin will fire you for cause if you’re not winning so you won’t get a buyout and a possible show-cause and 15 years of dysfunction. There’s a reason they have a blank check. Don’t get caught up with the money, we are set to make at least $20mil more per year under the new ESPN contract and that could start in 2022 or 2023. It's going to take someone special, I don’t care how long it takes.

I think a lot of people gave up on Kiffin because they feel he would of already been hired if he was a target but....if they were going after a Franklin or Campbell first....it would make sense Kiffin could be a third option or so. Rightfully so. Maybe ol Kiffin ain't out of this thing yet.

Everyone needs to chill out. DW got announced 4 days ago, spoke with the team the same day, and then really got to dig into a search. He’s had maybe 2 whole business days plus a weekend for the search so far.

Patience is a virtue people and this dude’s track record speaks for itself. He’s going to get something done soon, we should trust the hire based on his record, and nothing has leaked. The panic in here feels like it’s because we aren’t used to normalcy. I’m embracing it while y’all are freaking out over speculation and rumors. Im going to post again real soon of my text messages with a friend who worked for DW at UCF. It’s promising so look out for my next post.

Unpopular take: Elliot will make a better HC than Chadwell

It's tougher to be the best coordinator in the country than it is to win games at a nobody school.

You could also argue that Chadwell is doing more with less talent. Elliot has an embarrassment of riches to coordinate. I would argue Chadwell has been more impressive
