The thing about fans is.. They are there before you get the job and they are there long after you get fired.

I could really do without the fan blaming. "If you don't like what we're doing here, just wait and we'll show you soon."

That's really all you have to say.

I understand the sentiment of wanting people to be positive. But you're dealing with people that watched the most incompetent humans on Earth sit in your seat and drive this program into the ground. Maybe just.. Don't go there until you've shown you are different than those guys.

He's already different. He's 41 years old and was hired outside the family. Basically, he's saying, "Why are you doing this?" I believe he will be a breath of fresh air.

His hiring was nationally praised, and if Danny White doesn't make it here, then I don't know that many will.

Hahaha you guys are so predictable. You will literally eat anything they feed you and say it tastes lovely. Then love the next guy cuz he isn't whatever Meupel is.
Hope springs eternal, because all possibilities are still in existence. And we don't suffer from clinical depression like some.

I honestly don't know much about Huepel other than his coaching history. Took a look at his HC record and wasn't impressed. Looks to have regressed each year at UCF. Doesn't really show everything, but also doesn't really instill fun and happy feelings.
2nd year played with a freshman QB and 3rd year had a lot of optouts due to covid. Im going to give him a shot but we shall see

As much I loathe that school and it pains me to say it....Look at UNC w/ Sam Howell. Their roster is mediocre, but they had some speed outside this year and voila they played their way into a NY6 game. They also play in a $hitty conference, but doesn’t change the fact that it is a true statement.
Football is becoming like basketball in many ways, one of which is that you don't exactly need a well-rounded team in order to be at least pretty good. Well-rounded teams are still the ones who usually win titles, but there are all sorts of really good teams that aren't well-rounded by have great players in a couple key positions (like QB) and they improve quickly.

Let's not forget that ,any members of the administrative house was let go as well. My hope is that DW takes much of the hiring burden off of CJH, so that he can concentrate on the coach staff hires, recruiting, and coaching.

The turn around will be much quicker than expected. Sustaining it will be more difficult.

I think if he can get us to 8 wins for a couple of seasons in a row, the stench will start to wear off and recruiting will become much easier. Even with classes in the 10-15 range, it seems like he might be able to coach us to 8 wins a year reliably.

The bigger question is how long it will take to make the next step up. Can he get us to regular 10 win seasons with regular 10-15 classes (a la Clemson)? If he can do that, then re ruining will most certainly take care of itself.

In this day and age, you have to show kids you can win and put guys in the league. I think if he does that at even a moderate level the next 2 years, he will be fine.
