Okay so I've calmed down a bit today and I am over the temper tantrum of the hire---- BUTTTTT, you have to agree that we MUST get a strong Defensive staff that can recruit and develop players, or all of this is toast.
Of course we do.... but literally every coach needs that. Lol

@TrippieRedd or someone give me a reason this isn’t a red flag though📉... please 😕

Go look at the scores and who they played. UCF was actually better in the S&P in 2018 and 2019 than they were under frost during the undefeated season. And the losses were all one possession games. This year two of the losses were to white hot Cincinnati and BYU. Oh and he had a trash DC at UCF, if he upgrades it could be a game changer

Yeah, will be interesting to see how we recruit the ‘22 class. Hopefully most the players stay here from Pruitt’s last few top 20 classes.

If Heupel can consistently recruit top 20 to start & we start winning while scoring points I think the classes can be top 10-15 easily, regardless of coach.

Hard to go anywhere but down after a 12-1 season. This year they had like 10 opt outs and a REALLY bad defense. Seriously they were a good defensive staff away from being 9-1/8-2 and almost no one would be questioning the hire then.

Which WRs shine next year? I am excited to see Hyatt not only stretch the field but work on his overall route running to complement his deep threat. Who else joins him?

I think we would all feel better about it if we had thought of it first. Seriously we collectively talked ourselves into almost every coach in the country in here except this guy. He was right under our nose the whole time.

His resume is good enough for this job. Wish we had landed Campbell specifically. But I'm at least glad we got a coach with some imagination on offense. That's a welcome change. He's got a lot of work to do but excited to watch our current players get a chance to thrive and have fun.
I still have to respect someone willing to take this task on. Hats off to Heupel for having the balls to think he can come in here and right the ship. I'm pulling for him. Campbell's loss.
