This is exactly what I said for weeks now.I don't think so. I think it was Heuple since before White was hired. All the other stuff was window dressing. I know I sound like a tinfoil hat guy right now but I believe this has been in the works for weeks.
I think Wright announced he's staying. This OL isn't an awful group of men to start building with, a few of the guys may not have gotten much PT under a Pruitt regime cause they weren't big enough (in his eyes) to be SEC linemen. But may flourish in an uptempo system with more agility required.

Not sure if Wright is staying or leaving, I know Wanya & Jahmir are transferring out (or last I saw they were)
You guys need me for an AD. Give me FU money and I might be able to hire whoever we want. Please note I consider FU money to be limitless. To Campbell in my first contact I would have offered 13m/year and told him I'm prepared to triple the salaries of each and every one of his 10 assistants. You wanna talk? He and his staff would be the highest paid in all of college football. We get our man and the stories written would be different. Oh, and by the way, my salary as AD, I'm willing to keep it in the mid 6 figures. I have investment income. I got the idea we were offering maybe 7 or 8 to Franklin. We were already spending 6+ on staff plus Pruitt at 4+. I'm saying if you want a top hire to Tennessee we're going to have to pay Jimbo bucks. Go from 11/year total to 25/year total. That's my definition of FU money. I think they either didn't really try or we just have a different definition of FU money. Maybe they would be embarrassed to been seen throwing that kind of money around. Wouldn't bother me one bit. I'm used to spending hundreds of millions of other peoples (corporations) money on a yearly basis. I'm good at it and I am 100% committed to getting the job done. That's why people (corporations) paid me so well.
Nope and I don’t mean in terms of decision making/running the program. He shouldn’t be consulting us for that but a major part of his job is to appeal to us and keep us engaged. You don’t do that by trying to bully.
You do that by appealing to the fanbase, making smart decisions and yes, ass kissing. He’s a fluffer in that a major part of his job is to get folks excited for all of UTSports — to get us buying tickets, attending games, generating buzz/energy and promoting all things UT. If you want an example of that look at how Bruce Pearl interacted with fans and got students as well as casuals involved in basketball. He’s a textbook example of how you take a toxic and practically dead program and rally fans behind it. That is the positivity that White wants from us.
Well he needs to employ strategies that will work. Bruce didn’t demand students to come out. He went to every event on campus and made himself a part of it. He talked up his program and went out of his way to promote every other sport and activity on campus. Don’t let the bluntness of my words offend your sensibilities or confuse you. Perhaps you’d be more comfortable with terms like glad handing and kissing babies but it amounts to the same. You don’t make demands or try to browbeat people into submission. You become the example you want others to follow.
Fits with what the UCFers are saying. That his offense flusters against good teams. This though doesn't take into account UCFs defense. For each of those losses, UCF scored 23, 33, 24, 32, 26, 34, 49, 31 (average 31.5 pts) with a mean score D of 26.5I’ll look at the offensive opponents of UCF a bit later but first I wanted to see how our national rankings compared to each other for scoring, offensively and defensively. Clearly Pruitt was never able to do anything on the offensive side of the ball but he was able to muster a string of defensive wins in the back half of 2019. I’d advise keeping in mind this is relative to our individual schedules. I'm assuming, which may not be true, that our new coach will have his own offensive scheme. Again, I guess it's possible that may not be the case, depending on who our new OC is. jmo.

The focus of our change in direction has been to solve our issues on the offensive side. Here is a look at the offensive scoring comparison between UCF and UT over the past 3 years, sorted by the strength of the opponents scoring defense and against our respective schedules. I think it’s obvious we have had better talent than UCF but maybe not relative to as much of our schedule. In any event, I think UCF’s offense performed as it should against most average or below average scoring defenses and not so well against top units. Our offense struggled up and down the schedule; it didn’t seem to matter how good or bad the other team was. We had JG. At a high level I think it’s easy to assume we will be better and more consistent on offense; however, I’m not sure the scheme will help us all that much against the better defenses we may face from time to time. jmo.

He didn’t score a lot of points. I’d say two things to counter that: 1, It is a different league now, defense isn’t what it was then. And 2, his offense has continued to get better. He had no problems scoring on LSU with a back up QB at UCF.LSU was the only team in 2016 they didn't rack up 350+ total yards on, Odom taking over as HC and their defense falling apart was why those teams weren't more successful.
West Virginia: 11pts 462yds
Eastern Michigan: 61pts 647yds
Georgia: 27pts 471yds
Delaware State: 79pts 698yds
LSU: 7pts 265yds
Florida: 14pts 363yds
Middle Tenn: 45pts 629yds
Kentucky: 21pts 386yds
South Carolina: 21pts 465yds
Vanderbilt: 26pts 481yds
Tennessee: 37pts 740yds
Arkansas: 28pts 399yds
I think Wright announced he's staying.

I actually think it’s the opposite of tone deaf. He has done his homework, he knows our dysfunction. Ultimately, I agree, the long term more effective route is to drown out the negative with positivity. But I’m a big believer that as a leader you have to serve notice to bad culture. Especially in a role where he will never have the opportunity to personally interact with an overwhelming majority of the fanbase. By addressing it, he actually enlists, emboldens the positive fans as the model and as a source of accountability for the more negative fans.
All that throwing money around stuff didn't come from me. I think they were prepared to spend more for certain guys, but IDT a blank check strategy was ever in play. Some people can be bought-- not all, but some. And UT had options that weren't pursued. All in all, this could have gone three different ways, and I think it went the predictable path.
