Danny White hasn't even been on the job for 2 weeks. He has no clue who he can trust. Once he does there will be selected leaks just like there always is.

I was thinking about Heupel's lack of recruiting prowess. Here's some numbers worth considering: 59, 49, and 50.

Those are the Rivals (I know, not infallible) team rankings for Cincinnati during the time Butch Jones was their coach. Butch comes to UT capitalizes on a great in state class and gets multiple top 10 classes.

Tennessee will recruit itself and if, if Heupel shows much of a pulse, he will get enough players to get UT back to going to bowl games which is all we can realistically hope for in the next few years.

Come on Heupel and company, get Ty Simpson, get 10 or more of the guys from in state this year and build UT back. Top 20 classes until Heupel starts winning and if he does top 10 classes will come.
1 thing about butch recruiting at Cincinnati, I'm fairly certain that was before conference realignment so Cincinnati was still in a BCS conference, big east. Not the best conference but was considered like the p5 now. Automatic qualifier to BCS bowl games. That's how UCF got to the fiesta bowl in 14. They joined that conference, won and got the Automatic qualifier. That off-season realignment happened and UCF got pushed back down to a "lesser" conference after finally getting accepted into a power conference.

The drop-off with Gabriel had a lot to do with him being a true freshman an true sophomore under Heupel. And drop-off is probably a strong word. The biggest issues with Gabriel were in the redzone. Which is something young QBs tend to struggle with. And I think Milton was a better team leader. But I don't recall any QBs that have ever struggled under Heupel for more than a game going back to Oklahoma.
For sure and not a knock on Gabriel. He just didn’t elevate the team like Milton and ik that’s asking a lot for a True Fr. But Salter will be a Fr and Bailey a So.

Lock had his moments. Auburn, Scar and Purdue he played awful all 3 games. Not as bad vs Auburn as the other two games.

In 2016 he had a horrible game vs UF didn’t even pass for 100 yards and then it was the game or the game right before he struggled but I forget who it was against

There was a memo.

Danny sent it to a select few.

Those select few won't have jobs come Monday.

jmo

He knows what he is doing.
I’ve made light of it, but I honestly don’t know how to feel. I understand to rid the AD of rats, but at the same time the school shouldn’t be worried about every little piece of info getting out.

He would have done both men's sports, just like Ward or Kesling. They just had their person picked despite the fact that everyone loves Mike more than Bob. He had to have known someone, because he's well below average at the actual job.

Kesling was hired by Ward, was first his spotter, and then handled pre and post games. Not saying it was the right decision, but the decision wasn’t surprising.

Poster on VQ says Heupel is being Merritt, the RB coach with him. I’m glad he’s got familiarity, but some of this could be risky. That dude has barely coached at all, only one has recruited at this level and that’s the WR coach if they can keep him. I know these are offense and we shouldn’t worry bc the offense is Heupel’s yada yada yada, but that is a question mark for how they will work and recruit in this league. They are already behind the 8 ball in this all important ‘22 class

But wait, I thought you were all in on this and raving about the points we are going to put up and the offense and the offense and the offense.... JK, just jabbing--- This is why some of us were more pessimistic from the get go--- these guys have not coached or recruited at this level and so they better get it done on hiring a stellar D staff or this is all for nothing...

BS, we have the worst sports media ever. No one ever stands up to them so they just keep rolling out bad take after bad take, lie after lie. I’m glad he’s calling them out. I hope he keeps doing it because they are as bad of a problem with our culture as the culture itself.
Yes, listen to sports radio in different markets, and there is typically much less local team bashing.

Against 7th grade chemistry teachers and diesel mechanics.

I can only imagine the tears LeBron would shed if he had to play the "bad boys" Piston teams of the late '80's/early '90's. He'd lose his ****. He's literally throw a tantrum on the floor. The current NBA is like two-hand touch football compared to the NBA in the GOAT's prime.

So many have praised AJ Artis today... Not sure why.. We became smaller and supposedly faster, but couldn’t bring anyone down after contact.., losing Fitz was huge.. smaller is not better in this league
It’s a little harsh to judge him bc he wasn’t allowed to be around the players last offseason.
