Watching UCF/LSU now. Heupel calls a beautiful opening drive to score right off the bat

The backup qb did struggle for a long stretch in that game. He was never really a good passer though and had to rely on his legs mostly.

I like the offense philosophy JH is bringing, but not getting the feels on this staff he is bringing on and we still don't know what's happening on the defensive side in terms of staff... this seems to be sliding backwards at a pretty steady pace IMO...

I want this to work, but I am a realist and this isn't passing the smell test so far... yes, we need to "wait and see", but unless we are dazzled with who we bring in on the defensive side of the ball, this might all be just smoke and mirrors and we are going to find ourselves in the same position in three years figuring up another buyout... I really hope I am wrong...

Just don't see how you can not get a solid staff on defense at this point. So we will have the tools/mindset/optimism on offense, but need the right coaches to implement the schemes, recruit, and develop the talent. We desperately need the right fit on Defense to make this work. A veteran SEC DC with great recruiting chops is standing right in front of us in Steele, yet we are hearing it most likely won't work................... make it work. Get Garner....

Bottom line, D staff and ability to develop and recruit will be what makes this work or sinks us quickly.

Not arguing bro.. but I remember they sent out pics bragging on how much weight everyone had lost. Except for the o-line.. Henry T. Was one... he was able to work these guys.. and his philosophy was different from Fitz... But maybe this will work in Heupels game

LOL, man, this is so far from market manipulation. The algorithms hedge funds use to create their own momentum for swings is by far closer to manipulation, and that has been allowed. Publicly garnering support for a stock is nowhere close to manipulation.

There’s a difference between “publicly garnering support for a position” (which is completely fine) and intentionally influencing market activity in order to create losses for a stated third party. If you believe a position has value, hype it. Go for it. If you think a company is shaky, go short and tell the world.

When you intentionally begin conspiring with multiple other parties in order to intentionally inflict losses on another investor’s position, that’s where it gets dicey.

Take too much time and those kids in the portal pick other schools. More defensive players on our team start looking around because they have no idea who's going to coach them. It does not benefit us to stretch this out. JH needs to move quickly. Sure, find a guy you mesh with, but do it quickly. Otherwise, we'll have no chance to address filling defensive holes for next season. This is about more than the '22 class. We need to be able to field a good defense next year.

Hey, good points and I really don’t disagree with your points. I just think it’s important that this staff meshes very well.

My initial thoughts were to bring Muschamp in, but honestly I think his ego could cause big issues. Regardless I do hope this is wrapped up this weekend.

For sure and not a knock on Gabriel. He just didn’t elevate the team like Milton and ik that’s asking a lot for a True Fr. But Salter will be a Fr and Bailey a So.

Lock had his moments. Auburn, Scar and Purdue he played awful all 3 games. Not as bad vs Auburn as the other two games.

In 2016 he had a horrible game vs UF didn’t even pass for 100 yards and then it was the game or the game right before he struggled but I forget who it was against

I think it is extremely fair to say that Heupel squeezed every drop available from Lock. He had some really bad games, and that is the trouble with these offenses. If the QB has a good day, you are going to score...a lot, but if he has a bad day you are completely screwed.

So many have praised AJ Artis today... Not sure why.. We became smaller and supposedly faster, but couldn’t bring anyone down after contact.., losing Fitz was huge.. smaller is not better in this league

I think we just need some kind of news. Recruiting, defensive hires, etc. Honestly any regular in the recruiting forum is just a junkie looking for their next Vols fix. Our high is wearing off. We need some news.
