Missed the point and then confirmed it with what you said. Us doing what we are doing is because it is rigged. We are not in, we are outsiders to the club and have been since Roy Kramer retired. Fulmer ruined our membership in the club in the mid-90's by turning in Bama. If you are an outsider you do it the way we are doing it now to avoid the heavy hammer. Bruce's weenie roast affair pulled back the curtain and confirmed our status while the elites in the club continued doing what they do.

If you find a way to get us back into the club, you will be a hero for all of VN. Until then, I'll take reality over long lost perception. When we do the reality thing we stop kicking at the goads and start long term healing personally and as a football program.

We can never win unless this changes. What you said sounds good and all, but the fanbase doesn't understand that paradigm and will just keep chewing up and spitting out every poor schmuck that comes here.

It is rigged and it needs to be fully exposed. Those dudes that we just fired for this mess came straight from Crappabamma, just like Dubbo at Clemson, and Smart at UGA came from Crappabama...if that doesn't prove to the blind obtuse masses what is going on..then I don't know what will.

We will never compete against that stacked deck if we do not allow our guys to play the game too.

Handcuffing ourself playing this "Beacon of integrity" game is a recipe for eternal failure..I hope they were just performing an act when they said that..

AAC coaches making the jump to power 5 is a brutal trend:

What's the context to this though? Norvell has had one year. Jury is still out. Manny Diaz took over a bad situation and he started bad but now has turned it around. Overall record isn't fair. Tom Herman's record is great at Texas. Just didn't win a title. Matt Rhule would've done just fine at Baylor. Does anyone think otherwise? There's a reason he got an NFL job. Geoff Collins had to completely change the way they play football at GT. That takes time. Usually coaches moving up are taking over programs that were bad. They aren't walking in to GA, OSU, or OU situations.

Watch this kids film

A good friend of mine’s son was the starting RT for Soutlake this year. 6’4” 275. He played much bigger. Took on the #1 rated DE in the state one game and never let the DE make a play. It was awesome watching him this year.
Academic All State. The team made it to the state championship and lost. Only time all year that I saw him get beat at the LOS. And that was only a couple of plays. Gonna miss getting to watch him play next year...

I go to every game. My daughter is on the drill team. 2 more years of high quality high school football. This year was tough. Watching a high school team that was coached up so much better than my college team.

Almost posted this exact thing.

Yeah, I’m fine with him bringing his staff for the reasons you mentioned. But two things give me pause:

1) It seems like he chased Lebby and Briles and neither wanted to come. So, by default, there are people he didn’t want to bring with him who he is now bringing.

2) none of these guys have a known track record of being elite recruiters. If the head coach isn’t good at it, you need a few hounds. Maybe Burns or Merritt evolve into it quickly.

Also I’m worried about not having anyone with Tennessee ties on the coaching staff. I think it really helps to have alums who will go the extra mile and also provide a bridge to the “Tennessee” way. This is Josh Heupel’s program now - I don’t mean to suggest otherwise. But there needs to be some guys there who can help him understand Tennessee and what the fanbase and former players want/expect.
The Lebby and Briles piece is incorrect. As soon as CJH stated he was calling plays, both of those guys were off the board and he knew it.

Agree- lipstock on the pig IMO. Just my gut, but I feel like they had already been turned in to the NCAA. A lot of enforcement activity has been shelved for COVID reasons. Doesn't mean it would not be acted on when things open up. UT is so woke now that I feel like they had no choice because Pruitt was so dumb about how it was all done. He and the participants literally drew attention to it. We hired the blue blood AD to work our way out as well as because he is really good.

It is rigged. We are not in the club like I posted. 100% agree that the fanbase don't get it. To win we will have to out scheme other programs until/if something changes. At least we can be entertaining now with a good O. But becoming elite is a different story as you posted.

I think from what I saw, their offense was the main issue in 2019.

7th in scoring offense in SEC rankings in 2019.

10th in scoring defense. I was wrong earlier, I looked and saw Ole Miss.

But their defense wasn’t good. 2nd worst in passing yards allowed per game in SEC and middle of the pack in rushing yards per game.

Cheating has to be done quietly and through unofficial proxies. Otherwise you're begging to get busted.

It’s not being in some sort of club...... it’s having a strong AD and administration backing it up.....Doug Dickey wouldn’t allow the NCAA to do anything..... The NCAA has no investigative powers so unless they have definitive proof.... it is best to fight them with lawyers and hardly anything will happen to you.... we did the investigation for them.
It was a coordinated premeditated hit job..period. I hope it was worth it in the long run.

Nice people like @Vols4us don't believe that..they really believe we had to do this because the AA was coming after us...it's funny that so many bought that garbage.

At this point I don't care who finally won the decades long power struggle...I just don't want us fans in the middle being the ones getting ground up anymore...we do not deserve it.

I want the losers to just shut up and go away for the good of the program..nothing good is ever going to come from them trying to force their way back in, or continuing to throw gas on the fire because they are pissed off and hurt.

It looks like the Haslams won...so they sure as hell better do something great in the long run with that victory..because they have nearly burned the place to the ground in order to achieve it.

Me personally...I just really hate all involved in this war...they all suck.

I’m betting Geoff Collins ends up doing a damn good job at GT. He will recruit well there and brings a bunch of energy that GT needs.

First time I've ever said anything to you. You should feel lucky. Probably won't waste time on that though. Just pointing out the irony of it.
First time I have noticed you on Volnation and.......
