I won’t be worried about the offense under Heupel’s watch. And with today’s game favoring offense over defense, that’s great.

I just worry of who he hires as DC. His defenses at UCF were horrendous his last two years. His first season, it was serviceable which led them to their undefeated record before losing to LSU. The offense never dropped off during his three years but the defense did, which is what led to them dropping more games.

Yeah that's lazy and unproductive. Insults are usually used when you can't back up arguments with valid points. And if yer gonna go the insult route, at least be creative with them and not just overuse the same one that gets used by everyone. I respect people who get solid creative jabs in and am more likely to try to understand their side of the argument. Lazy insults don't give much confidence that the argument will be any different.

Is it he going to clap back at everyone on twitter?
I will not respond if he does. I think he has demonstrated very well to this point that he is skilled at time management. If you would like to monitor it and let the rest of us know, I will be happy to respond when you do.

True or false???

Stopping the run on defense will be more important because teams will try to establish the run against us more than most teams.

rationale behind such a statement is teams will see the way to offset our fast pace offense as playing ball control offense

The Lebby and Briles piece is incorrect. As soon as CJH stated he was calling plays, both of those guys were off the board and he knew it.
I think you’re wrong. When he was hired, AP and Hubbs, the two who broke the story, said he was already talking to Lebby. Then when the hire was made official the next day they said Briles was a target as well.

I think he realized middle of the day after the press conference that neither were coming. Here’s my evidence:

Immediately after the press conference he had a sit down interview with Bob Kesling. He told Bob he wasn’t sure who was going to call plays.

At 5:30 he had an interview with WNML and he told them he would be calling plays.

Any good updates on the DC search? I’ve been too busy the last several days with work but haven’t seen much on that front. Any new rumored candidates besides Arnett?

This is the hire I’m most invested in for Heupel.

That changed with lebby once it became clear he was the front runner for the UCf job

In 2019, UCF was 5th in the country in yards per play, not exactly horrendous. That's far better than they were in 2018 and 2017. They were horrendous in 2020.
