When Callaway went to the Saints they said he didn't seem to have the normal college development but they kept him and it seems to have worked out. I've heard that people at the Senior bowl have said that Palmer is still pretty raw, meaning lack of development. I've been complaining about our wide receivers since 2017. Hopefully we get a good wide receiver coach with this new staff. Given the nature of this offense I suspect we will and that is going to make a tremendous difference. jmo.

When I was hearing those reports last year about Callaway and Jennings I kind of didn’t think much about it. With the reports of Palmer being raw this year as well that is now two straight years with Tees being described as underdeveloped. The results are speaking volumes.

And there’s word going around that Tee is down there trying to position himself for an NFL job. After two straight years of you producing underdeveloped talent I’d say teams will be taking a pause in pursuing him.

Disagree. Pruitt and co actually left a lot of talent on offense. Defense is where I’m concerned. Our LBs are poop and secondary is weak
I don’t think we will not because of Heupel’s ability of coaching offense but because of the lack of roster talent and doubts about Heupel being able to recruit competitively in the SEC. I hope I’m wrong.

Heupel will not score even close as he was at UCF.
This season or in general? There's no reason to think he can't put those numbers up here in year 2-3.

Don't know what you mean by "SEC defenses".

Those defenses didn't stop Ole Miss from putting up those numbers. Those defenses didn't stop JH at Mizzou from putting up those numbers. This isn't 2012 any more.

Well i think that’s at least a good start for us. I would love to get back to expecting to run teams like Georgia state, Vanderbilt, or any cupcake opponent. I do believe that our offense does that with JH. It is to be nice to have an actual identity again. We haven’t had that since butch’s two good teams. Hopefully with JH anytime you play Tennessee... you know they are going to be really good at QB and WR. May be suspect in other places but your secondary and LBs better be ready to cover someone.
I don’t disagree. It’ll be good to whip those teams again. I’m just afraid this offense doesn’t translate against playing top SEC defenses.

The way it was described to me - and again you would know better - is once the opposing secondary is able to feel confident playing man and getting physical, this offense has no response.

I think we have lots of talent on this team. They just didn't get the chance with Pruitt because he was stubborn.

If we can shore up the OT situation, I think winner of the QB competition is going to have a ton of weapons to work with.

Hyatt, Jones, Wideman, Calloway, Keyton, Warren, Beckwith, Evans, Small, Campbell, Holiday, and Wright oh my.

Hard to feel confident/get physical when the opposing offense is moving at a hellacious pace.

I mean SEC Defenses in that they across the board have more athletic talent than what you will see in the lesser conferences. I have doubts about us being able to clear the hurdle of catching up to the top half of the SEC with recruiting.

Any defense that can comfortably play man means the pass rush is there and all things are clicking. Works against any offense. The physical side helps it when the O starts run routes and picks....

I think a lot of it is overblown because even the fastest teams in terms of tempo will even out as the game goes on. There’s gonna be situations when you want to go slow and hold the ball. But there’s a misconception about it Bc people act like just Bc you want to go uptempo means you don’t play physical. I don’t believe that all. Really the biggest thing know for me in this offense is usually when teams go fast... don’t move around their players very often so a defense can become comfortable and there’s less things to confuse them. For instance Arizona and kingsbury (and this is pretty much a staple in air raid/tempo teams) UCF did this a lot...they usually keep certain WRs on one side of the field the whole game so they can line up faster.( Here’s some examples at the bottom) but i don’t like doing that Bc if a desense has a lock down corner... it allows them to shadow that player. Or they can bracket coverage a certain side of the field easily. Every offense has its knocks tho.

Recalls Vince Young still talking about the HOF after the Titans released him.
