The hire alone. He hired a coach that has overseen a significant decline of a program he took over that happens to be far easier than the SEC. 6-4 year 3 after taking over a 12-0. That is material and the data doesn’t look good. Sure, he has fun offense but clearly he isn’t outperforming his competition.

You are hilarious. So how do you improve on 12-0? So by all means please list the coaches from big time programs that were wanting to come here? On and please list the proof.

And after you fail miserably at this, please just shut up. You have proven a ourself a horrible troll who tries to parlay your pretend wealth and insider scoop into message board validity.

(15yrs and counting rebuild)

"I know the milk you are drinking is sour and has spoiled, and I know I keep buying spoiled out of date milk for you to drink, but just keep drinking the spoiled milk for several more years, or when I finally decide to pony up and buy fresh milk... quit complaining, just drink it."

sorry, couldn't resist.... I agree with you by the way, but it is, what it is at this point...

Yes, it’s frustrating to have the years of futility that we’ve had while Saban racks up championship after championship in Tuscaloosa. But as a fanbase we have to let that go because that sense of entitlement manifests in counterproductive toxicity.

Water under the bridge- need to move forward with positivity and support Heupel for a good 4-5 years before anybody even starts murmuring about how he sucks, etc.

Yep they actually did a good job.... doesn’t mean he will get it done here but I’m hopeful.

Oh I agree. Anyone who just thinks he will repeat his offensive success or overall success at TN is being disingenuous imo. Can his offense look great? Yes. Will it here? Don’t know.

Like you, I am hopeful.

Think there is a misconception regarding the current state of SEC defenses. There were only 4 teams that allowed less than 400 yards/game last year (ranking in order (aTm, Jawja, tide, wildkittens). the rest allowed over 400/yards except Ole Miss who allowed a staggering 519 yards per game. 2021 schedule states we play the following (and their 2020 average): gators (428); Mizzou (406); SC (451); Ole Miss (519); Bama (352); Ky (381); jawja (321) and Vandy (487). Obviously more teams moving to the uptempo has impacted defensive numbers and think CJH has a better chance to succeed in the current environment than some are giving him credit.
Regarding gators, seems Mullen's team has a history of losing a game (SC in 2019 and LSWho in 2020) that they shouldn't so maybe 2021 it will be the Vols..

What I’ve learned about what you must say in your first press conference from going through a number of coaching searches.
  • Don’t forget to thank your spouse and children for supporting you even though you are disrupting their settled lives.
  • Pay respect to the storied legacy of the football program.
  • Name drop Peyton Manning at least once.
  • Pay homage to the mission of winning championships.
  • Speak to the grandeur and atmosphere of Neyland Stadium.
  • Promise to restore the football program to its historical greatness.
  • Declare that we’re committed to winning immediately.
  • Promise to run the football program the right way.
  • Challenge everyone to get onboard.
  • Make clear that you’re in it for the long haul or until you get fired after 3 years, whichever comes first.

Never forget.........

"We're gonna hire the best staff in America."

I am definitely not being overly optimistic in year 1 with basically inheriting a team that spent an entire off-season and regular season doing god knows what as far as development. But I do think we'll score more than 25 a game and I don't think his offense will suffer the same sort of issues that Leach's did where they had a 4 game stretch of only scoring 30 points. Won't speculate too much on the defense until we know who our DC is Pruitt's team gave up 30.1 though, so I just hope we're better than that in year 1.

It’s going to be rough until he gets quality depth on D. That’s the only way to counter this offense or we’ll be gassed out early in the 3rd.

I could see something like 29 ppg and allowing 28 ppg. 6-6 kind of numbers.

How's that different than what Pruitt was doing?

Mud slides, drought, forest fires, hollyweird-----stop me at any time

Lived in the south my whole life. I’ve met plenty of weirdos. Plenty. Also you know the “hollyweirdos” aren’t hanging out with college kids, right?

Forest fires aren’t difficult to get away from. California is an enormous state. It’s like evacuating for a hurricane. Mudslides I have no idea about.

But good friend lives in LA. Never once has she said anything about any of those affecting her in any way whatsoever. Maybe she’s just been lucky.

3rd down is crucial. Get an elite 3rd down DC. Defense has to get itself off the field. No excuses or blaming the offense for playing "too fast" lol.

People said our D gassed this year, which I never really saw (we just stunk at the end of half and in 3rd quarters), but even if they had - it was their own fault. Having an AWFUL 3rd down defense is just doing that to yourself.

I wonder if Artis is a good enough S&C coach?

I think his offense will lead us to blowing out the bad teams...... beat most of the teams he should..... gain yards against the good teams..... the big thing will be red zone production against the good teams.

I can agree with that. Although I don’t think the blowout wins will happen much this year. I think they will start next year. Yeah red zone efficiency is going to be critical. Hopefully JH realizes what he has in Beckwith and Wideman in the red zone.

fun fact. Asheville is a mini-California.

it was either Montreat or Warren Wilson that hosted Rainbow Gatherings.
My buddy from Knoxville is now the basketball coach at Warren Wilson...I didn't even know they had a team...I sort of chuckled thinking of what kind of recruits would go there...
