Let me say this: tho what I said above is true, it’s also possible that his scheme was limited by Gabriel. He said that he adapts to what his players can do. Gabriel puts up a ton of stats, but he really isn’t that good. His arm is pedestrian. So it may be that those are the plays that Gabriel feels comfortable running.

We have 3 QB’s on our roster better and more talented than him

Agree on our 3 QB's. At UCF, as long as it works for who you have you run it. He ran the full gamut of plays at Mizzou. Really good use of the TE.

It's not a bad thing! Leach has like 3 formations lol. It's a classic Art Briles concept. Hell, he didn't even have a playbook it was so simple haha.

Great for plug-and-play. Great for stability and never nosediving because a new QB can't learn the offense. Same type stuff Lebby and Kendall Briles do.

This is the way.

This this this this this this this this. THIS.

Okay so I just turned on a 2018 game with Milton as QB, and he is way better than Gabriel. Scratch all that stuff about the same 4 plays. They’re doing a lot of different stuff. He clearly limited the offense because Gabriel is limited in what he can do. Positive sign that he is able to adapt to his players strengths

I like to see it when someone can recognize and admit when they are wrong. Need more of that around here.

Milton was (hopefully he still is) a straight baller

Watching others here talk about analytics and trashing MIT’s chalkboard slope-of-a-line wins-only simple stupidity warms my heart.

Bless y’all.
"I went to MIT guys this is basic data analysis.

Dem win totals definetly going down right there."

That's the cutting edge break down you only get from an MIT education and years of hard work. If you want those brains and that lifestyle you just need to work harder you guys.

UCF fans aren’t lying about Heupel’s offense. He really does run primarily 4 plays. He runs up the middle, throws a bubble screen, throws a comeback route, and throws a bomb. One of those plays nearly every snap. The occasional slant. But that’s about it.
Welcome to the air raid offense! It’s numbers game you don’t need to be overly creative because then you can go as fast.

Lmao “number go down bad”

But there are countless variations that open up according to the quarterbacks comfort level.

I’m good with the same play over and over if it puts up over 500 yards a game and averages over 40 points per

Definitely agree with you that Gabriel is an average at best QB. Think that also speaks to the limited football knowledge of the UCF fanbase. They don't seem to be accounting for the decline in wins is due to qb ability, and are whining because they aren't going undefeated every year. I think their criticisms should be taken with a grain of salt.

True. But this is a completely different situation.
I mean yeah... going from OU to Utah State was a completely different situation.

Of course going from Utah State to Mizzou was also completely different.

Then again, going from Mizzou to UCF was completely different.

But I suppose UCF to Tennessee is even more completely different and not reasonable to expect him to be at least around his worst ppg output?

The decline in wins is not due to their QB ability tho. They still put up stupid points.

I'm not arguing that patience isn't necessary, simply stating that, if losses begin to pile up over two and a half seasons, patience will be hard to find, regardless of the circumstances he was hired under.

That said, I'm behind JH. 100%.

And I was a HUGE advocate for JP up until midway through the season...when I began to hear some VERY discouraging news.

Danny White's reputation as an AD is unparalleled at this university. He has my 110% of my confidence. I think he'll take a very pragmatic approach to our football program, which bodes well for Heupel. And the fact that DW has now hired him twice only bolsters that belief.
Please send MIT an email, text or post and bring him up to speed on our new AD.
Thank you sir

Well, if so, our guys should be able to pick up his offense pretty quickly

so...with this being said, lets look at the potential bright side, he was seemingly a UT lock, before Pruitt got canned and after Heupel got hired he decided tis offense fits him right

Gonna be rough. Gotta convince him that throwing the football for his state school under a guru is a good thing.
