We are on the way up. We finally have an offense for the 2020’s which is the first step of reestablishing ourselves on the national stage. Plus scoring a ton of points will attract recruits our way.
This. Wth are these people talking about with all this doom and gloom? Did I miss something? We have a STUD offensive HC and the best QB room in 15 years. Fasten your seatbelts. Fun years ahead.

Go back and watch the 2018 game vs Pitt and try not to get excited about this offense
That is so much fun..... huge difference between a great qb like Milton but he still put points on the board no matter who he had...... in the Memphis game he went for it on fourth and 2 at his own 30 fairly early in the game.

I been a UT fan since my childhood and through my years of playing football in my High School days. Remember meeting Carl Johnson and Curt Watson. But it is a choice on how we let things affect our emotions. I was so let down when the hire came out like everyone else but after processing it and getting over that and looking at our new coach I really have hope now. He has HC experience and a wide open O going to be fun. I am hoping to win the games we are suppose to won and one upset. Let's give Heupel a full year to recruit cause he is going to be here for a while. So I am chosing to believe until he shows me he can't get the job done.

Nothing but respect. 👍

But I’m approaching from the opposite direction. Full on apathy has hit and it is what it is. I’m out on CJH until he shows he CAN get the job done. I’m done blindly supporting $4m/yr MAC type coaches. They haven’t worked out in the past and I will need to see it before I believe otherwise. 6-6 incoming with losses to the big three with no sign of being even remotely closer and that is the best case scenario. Anything more than that and I will get a faint glimmer of hope.

Single variable metric lacks significant input from variable data??? W/L is a post Mortem observational KPI, not an output that I am trying to predict (which is the only thing that would make variable input data relevant).
On COVID, control for what their competition had to deal with on COVID, highly doubt UCF was the only one “impacted”. I am writing in concepts because I am typing on my phone. You sound like a Stats 201 TA that has never built anything material in AI trying to throw darts at people who are where you wish to be. Happy to compare resumes in AI if you so choose, $100 says mine is better.

You guys think Hoepel will be a good wecruiter?
Whether he and his staff are normally good recruiters or not, I don't think he will be able to do much that we would consider "good" recruiting for several classes.

This AA cloud hanging over us will hurt recruiting...Our self imposed "Beacon of integrity" bull💩 will be a big brake and it will hurt recruiting...Our (the very large, very vocal and very negative part of the fanbase) contribution to the toxic cloud of negativity, rightly earned or not, will hurt recruiting..etc etc etc.

I expect to see classes in the high teens and twenties for a couple of years. Heupel is playing against a stacked deck, but if he can accomplish some success over the next couple of years..I think recruiting will get better.

I think Heupel has potential to be a pretty good-really good HC, and under normal circumstances I think with the right defensive staff he would kill it at Tennessee...but...I don't know if anyone can fix this mess we are in.

I really appreciate him trying however, and I hope we don't destroy what to this point has been a very promising career. I hope it all works out. IMO we got a lot better coach out of this than I thought we would on the day of the nuclear press conference.

There is room or optimism no doubt. I just now wrote a response in the FF to that effect. However, there are plenty of potential bumps in the road too.

First off, we need to stop the bleeding (better known as the transfer portal).

Anyone who understands the game should see that Steele is a great Defensive coach. He puts guys in the league. He recruits well . His teams can line up. If Huepel and White are comfortable with him and want him on the staff, that's a huge win for UT.
This is how I feel. I am not concerned too much with Steele doing any undermining with DW running things. My concern is this..Is he loyal to Tennessee, or is he a Fulmer guy to the bone?

It sucks that you even have to worry about stuff like that, but it is just the reality of things now.

That’s my worry to why I said new blood

My son graduated from Montreat College in North Carolina. He fell in love with that place and that's where I sent him. Fun fact--he lived right down the road from Billy Graham's house on the mountain top.
Fun fact...we installed the flooring in Rev Grahams neighbors house.

When I read that it brought on a whole bunch of reminiscences of that job...that was in my crazy days back in the early 90s.

Edit...This was not Rev Grahams place near Black mountain...it was a another home he owned down close to Highlands NC that was also in a mountain top community. It was pretty remote, and I assume they went there when he really needed to get away.

There are many different parts to CA, and the Bay Area, LA, OC and SD are not at all the same. People who don't like CA don't live there, and people who love it don't want to live anywhere else. TEHO.
California is full of majestic, magnificent and awe inspiring natural beauty. I would love to live there for that, but the government there is ridiculous and a huge turnoff. Love the place, not the government.

Hell yeah! I love hugs!

I don't get to go to many games at all. Since we began this journey on the farm, finances and obligations to my animals, some of which are special needs, will keep me from going to all but a handful of games from here out. And I'm fine with that, I'll watch from home. But damn I wish this team would give me a reason to make the trip. I love Neyland, as I see it from a distance it reminds me of that day 40 something years ago I made my first trip. I want to be there when it's rocking again. I want to take my daughter now that she's a little older to a rivalry game, for that atmosphere and hope that maybe one day she'll look back and remember, maybe make a trip of her own.

UCF fans aren’t lying about Heupel’s offense. He really does run primarily 4 plays. He runs up the middle, throws a bubble screen, throws a comeback route, and throws a bomb. One of those plays nearly every snap. The occasional slant. But that’s about it.
And yet...defenses rarely slow them down..🤔 That sounds Iike some Grade-A execution to me.

Wiltfong just CB’d Ty Simpson to Clemson, rip our goals of keeping the best recruits in state
Why play here in a struggle to put out a decade long dumpster fire for free when you could go to one of the cheatin elite 5 and get PAID and nothing ever said or done about it?

I'm telling you guys...we ain't getting any of those top 100 type guys if we are truly not going to compete financially for those dudes...that is just the way it is.
