A "good" history? All time top 10 out of 100+ programs is not just "good"..I am sick of seeing all this garbage posted about my beloved Vols. I get it, but I hate it.

I will say, I really like the potential of Washington. And It's obvious OSU thinks highly of him. It's just scary having a guy who hasn't done it before. A lot like what we did with Pruitt as HC. It's a big risk thinking they can just step into that role at this level.

Then I guess it's a good thing for you that this cat is probably playing us for a promotion. So...don't worry about it..in the end we will probably be getting you some garbage old retread with "experience".

I hate every single fool involved in doing this to us. I feel sorry for DW and JH..we are probably going to hate them too in a couple of years, it seems like there are a lot of folks already building up a head of steam towards them.

There’s always gonna be the cultists that aren’t gonna be happy with anyone unless it’s THEIR guy, and “their guy(s)” are Lane Kiffin and Hugh Freeze. We need to cut those dumb rednecks out of the fan base imo. They’ll also be crying for Bruce if Rick doesn’t make it to a final four.

Anyone that isn’t 100% behind it now needs to be left behind. Let them call everyone else sheep, they’re the ones that look for reasons to be miserable.

Washington seems like a Sunseri hire. I hope it works out but it’s hard not to be worried how he will do in the coordinator role without 5-stars all over the place.

Sunseri was dumber than a box of rocks. He was a veteran position coach who made his living as a recruiter and had never been given an opportunity to move up to coordinator. In hindsight, we obviously know why. Sounds like Washington is a young, up-and-coming coach who excels both as a recruiter and a developer of talent. He is going to get that DC shot sooner rather than later. I like the potential upside.

Do you always have to be so hateful when someone has an opposing opinion? Yes, I would like someone with more experience. No, I don't want a "retread". I want someone who's been successful doing it. But if Washington is the hire, I think he has a lot of upside. But he'll have a lot of learning yet to do, and he'll be doing it on the fly in a tough situation. Not the most conducive conditions for success. As for nobody wanting us, that might very well be true. No idea. The length of time it's taking to find a DC certainly makes that easily imaginable.

I can’t believe we haven’t found someone by now had plenty of time to get it done also somebody said yesterday that it would be Wednesday before anything was announced

Yeah it’s never good when you give someone all weekend to think about it and they don’t accept over the weekend. Probably means he is negotiating with OSU. I think Danny boy is getting smoked in these negotiations and not closing the deal.

I wasn't being hateful. I am starting to feel as hopeless as you. This is ridiculous...I mean it is starting to look like literally nobody worth a wants this job.

Washington ain't coming...he is just Gundying us, just using us as leverage to force a promotion and a raise out of OSU sooner than they wanted to do it. That is why I said don't worry about him, I have a feeling we are going to wish a guy like him had taken the job by the time this is over with.

Wonder if Ohio State makes him Co-DC? Hard to imagine money alone will keep him if his goal is to climb the ladder. Truthfully, I think if that's his goal, he's better off going somewhere he doesn't share the title. The big question, IMO, is how does he view UT? If he thinks he can come here and succeed, he'd be dumb to turn us down. But if he sees a raging dumpster fire with little possibility of success, he'd be dumb to come here. So his decision might very well tell us how other coaches perceive UT right now.

How do you suppose he is supposed to "close the deal"? He can't force people to come, and he will look stupid for drastically overpaying for someone if they don't come in and knock it out of the park.
