We started a fire in a half buried barrel in the woods behind my house near a creek. We wanted to cook crawfish, which we did. Then I tripped and cooked my left hand. I soaked it in cold creek water for close to two hours before I worked up the courage to go home and show my mom. Then we tried to pass it off that I had hurt it falling out of a tree so she wouldn't know about the fire. Mom was not fooled. lol
we set beaver traps in one of the creeks in the woods in my neighborhood. why? i don't know, i don't even think there were any beavers. anyway, so we forgot about them, as kids will do, and one day....much later on, we're walking in the woods, and i'm going thru the creek, and i found one. with my foot. hurt like hell. and like yours, my mother wasn't fooled either. off to the emergency room for tetnis shots and stitches. good times.

Definitely. The Smurfs, He-Man, Scooby Doo, Care Bears, The Get Along Gang, Shirt Tales, Road Runner, Transformers, Inspector Gadget, Duck Tales, G.I. Joe, TMNT.

The ‘80s in general was awesome. My favorite decade.
Back in my day Popeye was my favorite. I still love spinach to this day and I attribute that to Popeye.

Well, for the past decade and a half the old has been a dismal wretched experience. I'll try a little new for a while myself if it means there's a chance that we don't have to lose to KY, Mizzou, Scar, Vandy, or weak non-confernece opponents.

Just feels like the nationwide crootin juggernaut philosophy is gone. I could be wrong. Even if you’re winning, recruits aren’t going to beat down the door to get in.

Porky Pig, Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Wile E. Coyote, Elmer Fudd, Marvin the Martian, Tasmanian Devil, Speedy Gonzalez(and his cousin Slowpoke Rodriguez).....and I probably forgot someone, but yes, Looney Tunes were awesome.

What I always found fascinating about Looney Tunes is that this was a staple across generations and historical eras from the 1930’s until some time in the 1990’s, and just about everyone that was a kid during that 60+ year period was familiar with the characters and could quote most of them. Then, all of a sudden, it’s like Looney Tunes wasn’t good enough anymore.

anybody remember David the Gnome? He was a Forest doctor, rode a fox, smoked weed and ate shrooms. Plump wife, rubbed noses with her.

Maybe, but again it hasn't done us much good over the past 15 years. Maybe we need to take a step back and adjust our philosophy a little for a while. If CJH has some success then maybe we are able to start challenging for top recruits again.
