Yeah I don't think much value exist in cross training. Let the NFL do that ish.

You get a CB you make him the best CB he can be, and that's on either side of the field. Moving him to WR then back to CB isn't helpful to him being the best CB he can be.

The fact he forced that on the OL was a pain in the ass. We may have actually had some legit LT prospects, but sending them in to play RG for a few series every game wasn't helping them develop at either position.

So, I have noticed that many of the posters who were screaming to get rid of Pruitt, irrespective of the cost, are now screaming about players transferring, NCAA sanctions and some of our new coaches.

Pruitt had to go, no doubt. I am just surprised that people are surprised it's going to be a painful transition.
I was prepared to lose players...they were loseable. Wasn’t prepared to stomach a pointless season with Pruitt.

It’s painful to watch, as it has slowly unfolded, but this purge was necessary. I like the vibe of this new staff, especially the offensive side where they seem to be a bunch of guys who genuinely like working together. Pruitt’s staffs were always a bit mercenary in nature, and he clearly lacked the gravitas to manage all the personalities.

I don’t usually groan on game threads, but when they trotted out the jumbo package against Mizzou when we were actually playing well during a few possessions, I disputed the wisdom of getting cute at that point. The jumbo package fizzled like the Turnover Bucket.

I'm never going to be mad about paying recruits lol. There wasn't a culture in our AD/Program that was accustomed to cheating. Not managing that change was on Pruitt and Fulmer. There is no doubt in my mind that we weren't doing anything different than UGA, Florida and Bama, we just didnt have our house in order.
I disagree with you a lot, but I have to agree here. If we are really going to go this "Beacon of Integrity" route, then we are going to struggle recruiting elite players. Why come here for free, when you can go almost everywhere else and get paid.

are you saying Gardner, rakes it in?

Not to support hypocrisy - but I can't help but think this emphasis on integrity is nothing more than lip service to get us through whatever sanction portion of the NCAA issues.

Cheating should be expected. Sloppy cheating was the problem.

i think Henry will wind up in the NFL no matter what. at this point, i think he realizes he's on a clock for what he would like to accomplish in college, and that clock will run out at TN. that's really it. if he goes to Bama or Clemson or a program of that ilk, he doesn't hurt his NFL chances at all, and does dramatically improve his chances of participating on a championship level team.

i don't blame him. but i would really like it better if he stayed. being totally selfish here, there's no real downside to his overall future prospects by staying. he does give up any real hope of a championship.

but he gains the chance of being a TN favorite, potentially 'legend'...would be an automatic leader on this team, and would probably be one of, if not the, best player in the locker room, and thus, get a ton of attention week to week....there's something to be said for leaving your mark someplace, and he'd do that here. probably not so much some place else.

but either way....i can't say i blame him.
I don't think of any these bubba bandwagon players as "champions". They are all weak ass followers.
