I get the impression that Heup has known Milton sine he was in Orlando and thinks highly of his potential. Milton is exactly what Heup wants in a QB, he can throw the dad gum ball down the field. My money is on him as being the starter. He's the guy that Heup brought in. Heup will simplify the game for him and call on that big arm 14-15 times a game. If he can do it, he'll be the starter. If not, we'll go the safe route with Hooker or Bailey. I don't think we can judge Milton fairly based off of a season in Michigan as the starter. He's got three years here to be coached and developed by coaches who have proven they can develop QB's.

So, it's not fair to judge Milton based off of a season in Michigan as the starter (under Harbaugh), but it's fair to judge Bailey off a few games under the train wreck that was Jeremy Pruitt?

Watching this.... if Michigan’s receivers weren’t so afraid to get hit Milton would of completed way more passes lol.
Dude has a canon for sure.. I don't know how to feel.. he looks great for a series, and then I get JG vibes on others. With a solid WR corp, I think he's completing 60ish percent of his passes.. Def wouldn;t mind if he brought Ronnie Bell (#8) with him

Not sure anyone has said that. Heupal has judged Bailey while watching him up close in practice. I think many, many people gave Bailey the benefit of the doubt and thought he would be the guy.

I’m intrigued by Milton. Arm strength and release are elite. Didn’t see a lot of balls with touch and I think that’s a fairly common theme with guys with big arms...especially early in their career. Brett Favre comes to mind. Mobile guy with a huge arm. Like to see if Huep could get something more out of this kid.

He might. If he can speed up he'll have a chance. I just think Hooker is mediocre. Doesn't do anything great, but probably safe. I think Bailey has the accuracy to be a Drew Locke type QB if he gets the opportunity and takes coaching.
I'm pretty certain that I heard a couple weeks ago that Drew Locke was the least accurate starting quarterback in the entire NFL last year. In fact, he was 35th, behind some QB's that qualified statistically but weren't full-time starters.

next year. need to see some improvement.

This, but with the caveat that improvement may not exclusively be measured in W/L. I can handle being beaten by a more talented team. I can't handle being the more talented team and losing because you weren't prepared or because you quit.

I saw someone say that he has the strongest arm in college football. Now, that only goes so far. JG had a strong arm. But Heup knows how to coach QB's, Weinke did not. So Milton has a chance for a fresh start here and he has elite arm talent. So we'll see.

I mean, it'll be in the W/L... just gotta win 4 to see an improvement.

We just have so many holes on the roster and then we will have more next year. I think it’ll get worse before it gets better unfortunately.

Specifically referring to how many guys we lose from the Dline next year
I don't agree with your first premise here. Next year on the DL, sure. But this year? I don't see a lot of holes except at Linebacker. And even then, it's more depth than anything. There's talent there they just need development. Are we elite? No, but we don't have holes all over our roster this year

We’re bad at corner and, most importantly, don’t have a QB.

If we find a QB then we can win some games this year. I think we’re pretty damn good at WR and RB and have a solid oline

I see that, but 4 wins would be an improvement. I'm not expecting 7-8 wins

Some people don't think highly of Milton, but UT didn't "settle." CJH watched Milton play and recruited him in HS and went after him aggressively as a transfer. The coaches got exactly who they wanted to run the offense they want to run.

UT challenged CJH to turn this thing around and he thinks this is the path. The coaches want to maximize our talent and stretch the field utilizing the speed of our WRs, and they think Milton has the skillset to do that. If one of our current QBs can beat him out, all the better.

Liked ole Sage. Iowa State product when that meant nothing. I see “watched his film” references on several boards and wholeheartedly agree with him on this. I include myself as addressed.

To be honest, I don't put much stock into the professionals either.

They remind me of financial experts with no money in the game. How is your job performance graded, or are we just talking right now?

If you know the game, join an organization and help them win in some quantitative way.

You foresee no issues with the roster because you are projecting that every player on the team, many of whom have not seen much playing time at all, pans out to be exactly what you hoped they would be. It never works out that way. This roster has holes.
