LOL what? That makes no sense. Because kids can now be paid actual money for their likenesses?

Like 10% MAYBE of P5 football players are good enough to get endorsements, and maybe 10% of those will make enough to pay for college. You going to take away scholarships of the other 99%?
10% + 99% = ?

That is constitutional. No one is protected from social or professional consequences of speech, only legal consequences. Taking someone's earnings and giving it to a specific group of other people (not just taxing it and using the taxes for the same thing you use other people's taxes for) is not legal.
Guess the logic is it takes all the players to make a team, and without a team any particular player could not be in a position to get endorsements. Still...I don't think that is what everyone was expecting when fighting for this.

Then go earn that income as a non-football player not on a scholarship. The only reason they are making money is because they are playing football every Saturday...on scholarship.
I don’t understand your point? Schools are absolutely raking in record profits because of these kids. They more than earn their scholarship. It is their name image and likeness, they should be allowed to profit from it. There’s no telling how this will look or how it will affect status quo. We know some schools were already cheating, maybe this evens the playing field for everyone else. I think the schools with the biggest boosters will be the ones who benefit the most, as always.

Don’t understand the point? The schools offer the platform. You say they are taking in profits, but they are the ones that have the TV deals and stadiums of over 100k. Let’s say the pandemic crippled some, and they decide to close up shop. No more platform for kids to benefit. Kids won’t benefit from NIL if they don’t get exposure.

I really have no issue with NIL laws. But the topic was it being unconstitutional for schools to share the wealth. I just don’t really see that. The schools have control with offering scholarships, and the players aren’t employees. The players will get money, but according to the GA law, they will share it.

I think it is less than 2% ever make it to the pro's yet ever kid coming out of high school believes they are part of that 2%. Few will get paid the big endorsement money and even less will get the endorsement for their entire college career. Those not making the money will eventually have a problem with those that do and it is all down hill from there, it's human nature, the have and have not thing, I work just as hard as you and so forth and so on.

Position change 'broke my heart,' but Vols' Eason embracing new role

My kinda dude!!!!!!!

Not a pu$$ like some guys that take their ball and run home to momma when things don’t go the way they expect.......like some have done recently.........
Love this player!!!🧡

And he's not a ILB. Not a DL although he will lineup on the DL sometimes. Not even necessarily a OLB. He's a Leo. And y'all wonder why I am confused. Need someone to draw me some Xs and Os. Guess that will have to wait until the season starts, and we see what a Leo even is.

After watching JG, they should have had someone around the clock teaching Bailey the playbook or minimize the playbook for him.
That's what I think we are going to like about CJH's system. It doesn't take 3 years to learn so you can be effective. Love how they gave each QB different plays for their skill set in the spring.

Isn't endorsement money considered earned income and if so would you not have to file taxes for the money. This whole deal is a tax lawyers dream. I have no idea how any of this would work but I can see how it could be a problem for not only the kid but their parents and the school and whoever else would profit and you know there would be several on the money train.

Do you think they knew this was coming?

I wasn’t making a political statement with the post. I’m saying kids who go to Georgia will lose 75% of endorsement money.

Don’t go to Georgia. Make more money in Tennessee.
Not true. It’s the schools choice. UGA has stated they wouldn’t do this

The school isn't giving them money, this is earned income for them. Like of they worked a summer job, the school can't take that money just because they're on scholarship.
Yeah but the team is providing the “platform” if they didn’t play on the team they wouldn’t make any money. So…. Yeah. I mean it says a school can take 75% not that a school will take 75%
