That's insane. There's no way that's constitutional.
I mean…. Is any of it “constitutional” lol…. Half the crap going on in the world right now isn’t “constitutional” people getting fired for speech they utilize etc because they anger one person who posts it to social media completely ruining that persons life “that isn’t constitutional” but it happens.

With the NIL in the future, one must remember who will be the big payers and what have they done thru sponsorship of AAU basketball and football camps to direct talent to certain schools that use their products. This is done thru "Handlers" now and everyone knows it but will not openly talk about it on the NCAA level. Now when a player gets an agent instead of a "Handler" is he a Pro or a amateur ? This is what the beginning of the end of amateur sports as we have come to know it could look like. Its all about money in the end.
It's always been about money, just the schools and NCAA were the main beneficiaries instead of the players. This is a step in the right direction, despite the mess its going to be to execute it. College football has always been minor league professional football, these kids have never been amateurs in the true sense, college football is a multi billion dollar industry whose primary workers get paid on a barter system that no other industry would allow.

Hiring a DC in the hopes of keeping 1 player with likely 1 year left would be beyond dumb. Since Hype is a MENSA genius, never would be him.

Yeah, didn’t say I agreed with it. More like thinking out loud, and just wondering if it played a part. I’ve gotten sort of used to the UT AD folks making decisions that are beyond dumb. Hoping its different now, but who knows.

You guys are confused about “the constitution.” The Constitution is involving government action. Freedom of speech does not equal freedom from consequences. Private employers are not the government. Also, a “redistribution of wealth” doesn’t really violate the Constitution. Taxes, welfare, food stamps, aren’t constitutional issues.

That is constitutional. No one is protected from social or professional consequences of speech, only legal consequences. Taking someone's earnings and giving it to a specific group of other people (not just taxing it and using the taxes for the same thing you use other people's taxes for) is not legal.

Taxes are different than taking only a specific type of revenue from someone and giving to only a specific group of other people.

He's going to love being out front of every convoy.
DATS ain't too bad though.

I mean in real tank combat it would be an entire platoon of tanks but I mean that hasn’t happened since the Gulf War…. And we straight up massacred those T79s and Type 69s….. when an M1 Abraham’s can travel at speeds up to 45 mph (theoretically almost 60) and accurately engage 8 tanks in 1 minute did they really have a chance anyways…..

Now we have the M1A2c which is even better than the version utilized in the Gulf War…. But they won’t see any real utilization until a real conventional military conflict.

Valid points.

I get it. I was in a CAB when I was at Hood. I was a 19D. I know all about the Kilos.

One interesting difference between the US and the World is that all of our sports are Hand-Eye coordinated whereas soccer is Foot-Eye. That's said, that's why we tend to have good goalies.
We have good goalies because most everyone is on offense against us, they get a lot of practice...😂

At some point, Bailey needed to play more last year. He would have provided hope. I did hear from the grandparents of a student manager that they were trying to help him with the playbook after a few weeks into the season. I got the impression that he just missed a whole lot of fall camp.
After watching JG, they should have had someone around the clock teaching Bailey the playbook or minimize the playbook for him.

Hell, people are getting fired over things they said 20 years ago.......We’re going to start paying restitution for things that happened over 150 years ago.

My great-great (or great) grandfather was killed by Mexicans during the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836. I demand restitution! I want a condo in Cabo and free transportation there and back whenever I darn well please!

The problem comes when the competitive edge becomes even more lopsided than it is now. Eventually the NCAA could and probably would fold leaving a the major schools to start their on league. Everyone thinks that all the SEC and other major conferences would start their on league but I doubt all the schools in those leagues would survive after a few years since State money is involved with most schools. I think what you would windup with is basically the USFL with school and sponsors on the jersey. Not saying it is good or bad but like most things, the ones that want the change the most don't really know what the changes will do in time to potentially destroy the cash cow so many of them live on and so many more benefit from as far as a education goes. Time will tell, anybody want a SKITTLE , I have extra.

They are under scholarship, so the school has some control. Not my area, but my first thought is not it being “unconstitutional.”
The school isn't giving them money, this is earned income for them. Like of they worked a summer job, the school can't take that money just because they're on scholarship.

Then go earn that income as a non-football player not on a scholarship. The only reason they are making money is because they are playing football every Saturday...on scholarship.

Edit: the schools offer a lot of economic value. UT is in the SEC with a huge TV deal and a 102k stadium. The players will make money off “name, image, and likeness” because you will see a lot of them because of the TV deal and stadium capacity. Marketing 101.
