Maybe there can be a limit of the number of transfers a team can take but if you lose one you get one. Maybe teams that were in the playoffs the last 3 years could not take any. Something to stop the best teams from becoming stronger. The playoffs have already ruined parity. Making it easier for those 6 teams by letting them take the best of the best in the portal while running off their weakest players is not good either. Maybe allow new coaches a set number in the portal without it counting against the 25. IDK...but something.Have to disagree. Schools should be incentived for keeping players, not losing them, or worse yet, pushing them out. Of course we're just seeing the downside right now during a coaching transition, so it hurts worse. But across all teams, giving teams a new spot for every transfer, and watch how many teams start cutting 10-15 worst performers each year and taking 35-40 man classes. Alabama would be the first to do this. And Butch. It would only EXACERBATE the transfer market. Opening up more spots means even more demand. The transfer market would double over night.
Jmo but the goal should be to minimize the number of overall transfers, not maximize. Lessen the demand and the supply will eventually realize and match it. Increase demand and watch the number of transfers shoot up when Bama has 10 extra spots and everyone jumps at the opportunity.
We did in year one and two. Tuttle, Warrior, Bituli, Shamburger, Thompson, Deandre Johnson, Taylor, Bennett were all better under Pruitt or developed.
It was the OL, offensive philosophy, and of course, QB that were his severe downfall.
I hope we get to the super-regional at least. If we don't, many people will characterize the season as a failure.Man - you really have to stretch your noggin's Nega-Vol capacity to come up with something trite to say about how things are going with the Diamond Vols. With some decent umping and without a few pen meltdowns this bunch may have only lost 3-4 SEC games all season. 35-11 and 15-7 in the toughest conference in college ball is getting it done no matter how the finish the season. My hope is the team just continues to do what they have done all season and have fun. Inspiring bunch.
But then he didn't seem to develop his recruits on defense. What happened? We did in year one and two. Tuttle, Warrior, Bituli, Shamburger, Thompson, Deandre Johnson, Taylor, Bennett were all better under Pruitt or developed.

If you drop below 85 on the roster, you can fill those spots with transfers, walk ons, etc., but you can't add past 25 to a current recruiting class to do it..Do we not get spots back when players transfer? I feel like we should have a lot more, but Callahan made it sounds like we only have 1 or 2
allowing traders, er transfers to rival schools is a bit much. sec should intervene
Can you explain "super-regional"? Is that still a part of the CWS?I hope we get to the super-regional at least. If we don't, many people will characterize the season as a failure.
