Were those willing to come?
Briles was the only one I think wasn't down for it. CJP apparently didn't care for his ideas...couldn't wrap his peanut brain around there basically being no playbook...he needed someone with a 300 pager lol. Though I heard a little that Yurcich also called around and wasn't exactly warming up to the idea after talking to others that worked with CJP. But if we really wanted him and paid him - I think we could have had Yurcich. Lebby for sure.

He won't have an insurance salesman as his position coach, so he will be fine. He was still our best player on defense last season.

Defensive leader on a team that couldn’t stop passes across the middle, nor could he get the defense lined up correctly without Bituli.
Not worried about seeing him on the defense...at bama he will get lots of work on special teams...

Pruitt was telling him what plays to call
Pruitt would have had him running almost every play. Was Dooley forcing him too? And Bielema? And the Pitt coach? That could just be his blanket excuse for his past 2 decades I guess.

Guy has been pretty mediocre since his Purdue days and he has been open about leaving that philosophy behind years ago. Not surprisingly he actually put up good numbers once he was surrounded with crazy talent at UGA. As if no one else could do the same...

Guy is ok, just mediocre, and tied with Pruitt, yeah it certainly didn't help. But people seem quick to forget his meh offenses the first time he was here. Again, he did have success once he had crazy talent all around in 2012, but looking at his whole tenure here...he had 1 season over 30 PPG in SIX seasons. That is absolutely atrocious when 30 ppg is close to the average.

Can you explain "super-regional"? Is that still a part of the CWS?

It's been so long since we've been good. My last memory is as a kid going to a UT baseball camp and getting my cap signed by Todd Helton. That feels like the last era we were worth following. Great to see us good again, now I just have to remember how all this works 😅
It is basically the Sweet 16. There are 16 regional winners and they advance to the super regional. Best 2 out of 3 an the higher ranked seed's home field. If you win, you advance to the CWS.

Is it bad that I always cheer for former Vols to have a good career, but, I hope that Henry T plays like dog doo doo at Alabama?
I still hope he has a good career in the NFL. Nothing against the kid and he seems like a really good kid with maybe just a weird dad situation. It's a different type of family culture, at least from myself, as well so...

But, while at Alabama, can't root for him either.

Wait until he gets trucked by our current crew of RBs. If he makes the field, I would scheme 10-12 pass plays right at him. Also fun to see our Michigan jumbo QB truck him...
Hope that Rocky Top gives him nightmares this year when it gets played over and over as his defensive weaknesses are exploited by a real coaching staff.

😁
we can hope

So only 8 teams make the CWS?? Wow. I thought it was more like 16, 32, 64 teams. Guess that makes sense then why we haven't been to the CWS in so long. Much more exclusive than I was aware. The last CWS game I watched was the Lady Vols about a decade ago when Abbott(?) pitched.

I don't really get why it's only 8 teams tbh lol seems pretty low

Is anyone else like me and not care that To’oto’o decided to go’ogo’o? He took social distancing to heart, because he was never closer than 6’ when covering anyone over the middle.
I'm not the least bit disappointed. He was average at best. Bituli was twice the linebacker that TooToo was/is. Much like Pruitt, way overrated.

Maybe he was a product of poor coaching, I guess we'll find out.

Im sorry but I have a hard time getting excited over a recruit where the school we had to beat was Rutgers
