I'm fine with millennials on here as long as they keep their mouths shut and let the adults talk.
But I have a taste for freeform jazz

I think we should be pursuing Derion Kendrick. I know he got in trouble at Clemson, but he'd be like a one year rental. Keep him in line one year, and then he goes pro. And he would easily be the best CB on our team. Get him and Ronald Williams, and I would like our secondary a whole lot more.

And even though we probably have no shot at him, I'd be blowing up Palaie Gaoteote, the ILB from USC, trying to convince him to come here. We need one more ILB to really shore up that unit. Might as well aim high.

I know our defensive philosophy is going to be a lot different from the past, but it's always been my favorite side of the game. I want playmakers in the secondary, bruisers on the line, and a combination of both in our linebackers. I really don't want to be just mediocre on defense, relying on the offense to win the game.

For all you Preds fans in here, what about Pekka Rinne tonight?!?! That was a damn show in what might be his last regular season game in the Tire Barn!
A terrific night for him. The continued ovation after the game and his heartfelt actions as he skated around the arena saluting the fans was great. Lastly, for some reason, this team right now seems more together than any previous year, except maybe the 2017 Stanley Cup finals team

I believe it’s all those younger guys coming along and playing hard....the Herd Line for example.

Tanner Jeannot is playing better hockey than someone like Kyle Turris almost ever did as a Predator.

Like I said, you won’t catch Too Too on our sideline. VFL’s who know about winning and tradition would have some words. Bunch of snakes in here. No loyalty and character if you think what Too Too did is ok. Guess I should have transferred to my main rival back in the day just to win. GTFO, I would die on the field with my brothers before quitting on them.

I mostly agree with this post. I am willing to admit that I don’t have time to research any of the potential transfers.

I do think that our current coaching staff does have the time and the expertise. If they get a transfer, then that transfer can help the team. The Spring game highlighted some potential deficiencies on the defensive side of the ball. However, as the defense gets to practice more against our obviously high octane offense, they will get better.

I think that our defense is not as good as our offense. Not because of talent level, but because of lack of development. I also think that they are vetting any potential transfer to remove the potential mercenaries from our team.

It amazes me that our former coach (purported defensive genius) couldn’t develop a defense. Apparently, he spent most of his money paying for defensive mercenaries to cover for his own deficiencies.

Most of our highly regarded defensive players/recruits that asked out of their NLI or hit the transfer portal seem to support this.

I think that we will be better off without them. When the going got tough, the mercenaries laid down. “I am not getting paid enough to give my all. Pruitt is late on my payments so I will slow down and avoid injury that could prevent me from reaching my goal (mo money, mo money).” That included the mercenaries on the offensive side as well.

As a millennial, I agree.

Pretty much every living generation is awful in its own way. Boomers are Boomers. Gen X’ers are alcoholic cynics with their heads up their rears. Millennials are whiny stoners who won’t leave the basements of their Boomer parents whom they hate. And Gen Z are narcissistic fragile sociopaths.

I got the short end of the stick. I have to support my boomer MIL. I'm a broken millennial. :(

Good post, doc.

I have never understood why people always want to follow somebody else's path to success instead of taking their own. That is clearly what happened with not just the Gump, but also with Botch. Both were poor imitations of the guy that helped them get the job (Saban/Kelly) who had blazed their own paths to success. In both cases UT's "leadership" chose imitator/wannabes. That stuff happens across the spectrum in sports and all other aspects of society. We have seen it play out with the LV program. Yeah, let's select deputy Holly to run it into the ground because Pat wants her. Uh, even a legend like Pat should not have the right to dictate the path of the program because she was not exactly setting the woods on fire before her diagnosis. The game had moved on from her method of play. So should have the program. Dools was just a SEC blue blood buddy deal panic hire. A total whiff.

You might take a hit for a time with team performance as the system changes and roster is rebuilt, but in the long run it is worth it. Fulmer and his system was done. It was the decision making after it that was screwed up. In Gumpland - when Bear was done, Stallings briefly raised it up, then Saban took it to new heights. In between was pain. You just try to make the period in between as short as possible. That is where UT leadership failed. They never learned to quit compounding the problem. We go barren wasteland until new growth starts slowly building. Just look at the history of the program.

Hire the very best like Bama did, or, hire the very best innovator at the time who has been successful in previous stops like UF did with Meyer.

IMO UT finally did the later with Heup.

I fall right between Gen X and the Millennial generations. I am the best of both and quite possibly a super hero.

The real problem is the Gen Z folks. That's who is to blame for UT Football being a dumpster fire for a decade and a half.

I am an alcoholic cynical whiny stoner that won't leave my mom's crawl space. Lousy Karen Boomer won't move to a house with a basement so I can play my video games in peace. I really can't stand her.

Dave Hart, Lane Kiffin, Derek Dooley, Butch Jones, Phil, and Jeremy Pruitt are not Gen Z

I'm 45, I feel like I fall in no generation. I'm the nasty individual I am.
