We're probably not going to. But I expect it to get better as we go. And if we score more than 20 on most teams, that is a vast improvement.

I just hope we actually compete in games this year. We could score 20+ with lots of it in garbage time

Our 16 and 17 defenses were butt cheeks. Vandy easily beat us both years lol.

His offenses put up numbers but I’m not convinced he’s gonna come in and immediately fix things. All his games at UCF were either blowouts or head would lose close. He was like 0-8 in one score games which is really concerning.

Yeah so concerning….. lol what we would give to have one score competitive games instead of blowouts….

They went to a Fiesta Bowl before Frost and beat a great Baylor team.

UCF is on a different level than FAU. We'll get to see what Heupel and Kiffin can do against each other on more even footing in a few months.

You’re right, one was American and one was Conference USA, right? Still, FAU was beating some good teams and got handled by UCF

The coach before Frost (George O'Leary) had 4 10-win seasons including a 12-1 season in 2013. The coach before Kiffin went 9-27. I don't agree that Kiffin is a far superior play-caller than Heupel, but UCF is a far better program than FAU so head-to-head results at those two schools are worth little imo.

It’s football, stuff happens they also put up over 600 yds a game…..

Imagine what he can do with the talent Tennessee is able to pull, I mean literally if he is able to put up anywhere close to that yardage, it won’t be a problem getting recruits.

Based on recruiting rankings during Frost years and Heupels years UCF averaged ranked in the 70s for recruiting (actually slightly higher for CJHs classes). That’s still not very high on the totem pole.

Random "cool story, bro," but we were at Kiawah this past week and on the way back onto the island from a short trip we stopped to get ice. My dad was wearing Tennessee colors and the cashier said, "Tennessee! I'm UCF! You stole our AD!" My dad goes, "Yeah, and your coach!" The cashier responded, "You can have him."

We'll see. I think we might be fun to watch, but I'm not booking any tickets for Atlanta anytime soon.

Realistically? Probably no one. Unrealistically? Like, Urban Meyer or someone of that caliber. I just think we have too much rebuilding to do in the short term that anyone was going to face a steep hill.

But I'm like you, I want to see us start beating up on bad teams and see if we can spark some excitement. Then comes the recruiting. Then who knows?

ETA: I take that back. If James Franklin was as close as it seemed to count him as realistic, I think he could've had us in Atlanta inside of 4 years. I get why people don't want anything to do with him, though.

If this year is rough we have issues. We are playing a pretty cupcake schedule. We barely lost production players…..

2 RBs who stat wise was average
2 Receivers also stat wise average
1 OL who under performed
1 QB who was terrible and 1 QB who we don’t know what could happen
1 Lockdown Corner
1 Decent Strong Safety
Didn’t really lose anything along the DL
1 Good LB…..

I mean that’s really about it…. If we can’t replace those we have bigger issues.
