It is just further evidence of a long held assumption of mine that has been firmly proven over the last year and a half..

I haven’t been around because this team is not good for my mental health lol, but my friend sent me this and said “How I imagine everyone on the VN football forum” and it was too perfect not to share with y’all. See y’all in August when my blind optimism will be at an all time high and I’ll start commenting my annual/ delusional “I could see us winning 10 games this year” posts. Hope all it well

It is deeply ingrained in Americans and even more so in Tennesseans I think. We could not really be worried about something and then someone says we can't have it or unjustly try to take it from us. Then the stubborn pride wells up and you will have to pry whatever it is from our cold dead fingers because we will fight and die for it.

I didn’t want to lose 2 straight and exit quickly, but I think you play 3 and then whatever after that. We got great pitching from a 4th guy who hasn’t started much.

Today’s game will be all about not overextending the staff.

Also, Dave Van Horn has not won an SECT title if that tells you something.

Dobbs would have saved his job for one extra year. Dobbs was single handedly one of the reasons he made it as long as he did.

I was one of the ones that said it and still feel that way..... Our regular season winning the East championship is a bigger accomplishment than this..... The main prize in college baseball is to make it to the college World Series and that needs to remain our goal..... That being said ...... Go Vols! Kick the Hogs a$$!

The Bray led O averaged mid-30's in PPG his last season. At that time it was the highest average scoring for a UT team IIRC. The Dobbs led O scoring topped it. The moral of the story is to run an O scheme that the talent does well in while recruiting to the one you want to run. Transition matters. Forcing Worley to run a read O was insane when he was recruited to the scheme that Bray ran. But Botch was Botch...

It was the lack of D, inconsistency, and dumb HC decisions that cost the team a lot of W's. Hence, 15 years of futility. Which stops now - finally.

Winning a SECC in any sport matters because the SEC is the benchmark for most collegiate sports, especially in football and baseball. It sets the tone for the CWS. Hope they pull it off. Regardless of the outcome, this has been a special season with a special team. Winning the East was the biggest accomplishment like Volbeast posted. That's the body of work and it was fantastic with so many moments to remember.
