It’s worth dusting it off if you like the show. They have similar controls. Obviously gameplay is dated but not bad. Recruiting is fun
Thats the thing i miss the most is recruiting. Ive been playing quite a bit of the show lately since its now on xbox. I like to pitch in franchise mode and sim hitting. I took my Braves and actually built a bullpen

Yes, we have talent. But we've also lost a lot of talent-- and with it went productivity and experience. We have roster holes and depth issues, and injuries in the two-deep would be very costly. But we have no choice but to be patient and see what the coaches can do with what we have and the transfers they bring in.

We've had a lot of guys portal in and out and some players missed spring ball, so this team hasn't even practiced yet. We haven't seen what we have or how the pieces will come together. We don't know for sure how the QB scenarios will play out. I think that makes it difficult to predict outcomes. It does give us something to look forward to, now that baseball is over.
One of our biggest problems is we haven’t hit on a a true program changing QB. That we could build off of.

I'm pretty sure I have never heard of Student-athletes paying taxes for athletic dorm and school supplied food.
That wouldn't exactly make for a good story 😁 Taxes are pretty personal for most people and I'd guess many fall on the parents' return anyway.

I've also seen where some universities will withhold taxes from stipends and such, so it becomes a non-issue. And if it's less than the standard deduction, it's a moot point anyway.

All in all, not sure why we'd ever hear about an individual's tax situation. Pretty personal stuff. But those portions are certainly taxable to those individuals/families regardless.

I wasn't talking about 8 to 9 this season. I know we're depleted. I'm saying that even if we're forced to play it more straight, we should still be able to draw enough talent to get to 8 or 9 per year. And I'm not convinced that playing it straight is as bad as it once was, due to NIL and the strength of the fan base.

Regardless, if we aren't playing up at a level commensurate with the talent we do have, we have the wrong coach, and if we are, I'm pretty sure that the power of the brand will eventually correct the talent imbalance.

By this point in Pruitt's tenure, we were already hearing stories of how bad he was managing some things: missing meetings, sleeping at the complex, needing the (unnamed) AD to take care of some things, etc. We chalked that up to new coach filling big shoes. Was obviously more than that.

But what have we heard about Heupel? Silence. Nothing at all. At the very least it's good to know that he has enough experience to not be making bad news already. Jury is out on whether he can coach, but dang, it sure is nice to not be making news for being stupid.
It's not so nice to be making news because so much of the team has left or is leaving.

Their talent was recruited for, and has been in the same system for multiple years...ours was recruited for completely different system, and having to learn new system and in a lot if cases new positions..

Face it, no matter how decent to good this staff is...this year is going to suck.

I am certainly not expecting a miracle here in this staff's first season, but I don't think we will "suck"... As much as I was not a fan of the hire, it looks like as of right now, these guys at least know how to coach and develop, and at least better than the previous staff of mostly jacklegs...

There's a lot more potential here and upside of talent if developed correctly and used in the correct system. This will truly be on the coaches to see, evaluate what they have to work with, and scheme around it to maximize it. I am hopeful we will see a team (barring any serious injuries) that improves as the season progresses.

One of the key's here is that we must settle on a QB and have that position steady before the first game. I don't think it can be stated enough how JG kept games in chaos/in an unpredictable state... he was always just one play/throw/snap away from F'ing us... QB stability that is comfortable with the new offense will change the entire flow of our game and offense...

------ and sidenote, KY is not better than us----- JG literally handed them freakin 21 points, we apparently fired a coach during halftime, and the team basically gave up the second half... KY didn't beat us... WE beat ourselves.

Sounds to me like Garner is telling dudes how it's gonna be and the fatties down the chart didn't dig it.
No idea. I do think the depth chart from last year is a bad indicator for what the depth chart is this year. Simmons has supposedly been far and away the best performer during the Spring and he hardly played last year. The guys at that position didn't even have a coach. The evaluation at that position was probably nonexistent for an entire season.

I don't blame any player for transferring because of playing time. In fact I would say any upper classman who is totally fine with riding the bench has probably mailed it in anyway.
