Big difference between a top five guy and a first or second rounder. Also, KT from Oregon is exactly the type of player who would be expected to make six figures on his NIL. Five star pedigree, All-Conference/All-American caliber player, in the discussion for top overall NFL draft pick. He of all players is representative of the top 1%.

The most interesting part of this deal to me is the NFT. I'm not as well versed in this type of transaction, but it seems that ANY athlete could utilize this as a vehicle to be paid. Any booster could argue they're not 'paying the player', but rather 'investing in a collectible investment (something with tangible value)'. This is how kids get paid legally, and for doing absolutely nothing. No t-shirt designs, or candles, no self promotion needed, just use of their image in a highlight, or piece of art that's considered 'collectible', and money flows in.

I'm hoping someone with more knowledge on NFT's can weigh in, maybe I'm way off base? But if not, this avenue is an above board way for ALL athletes to cash in quick.

That was expected when you have the Nike Brand behind you. I suspect basketball will really benefit greatly there as well. It is just one guy though not like the whole team will get that. He is one of those no brainer kids that is destined to be a PRO.

My bad…. Thought you were talking about McNeill and drew Gilbert…. The point still remains…. It will be telling what kind of deal when we develop/sign a few hyped/star players….. a guard and center doesn’t exactly move the needle… in fact….. Cade was probably more hyped in Tennessee when he was coming out of high school then he is now.
