Kid sees the potential support at Tennessee is greater than other schools. Kid advertises his social media following gets better endorsement offers.
Kid decides to decommit and loses 50,000 followers over night. Kid decides he liked Knoxville better after all. Vol twitter decided they like the kid again. Followers, deals, commitments.
The NFT thing at Oregon is what this is gonna look like. Booster pays a kid x amount of dollars for a one off meme or whatever. This is literally legalizing paying for players. There is no regulating this. Pandora’s box is open. I’m here for it , whatever, as long as we are playing football at the end of the day. This has sort of been my worry - other schools are basically going to round up the boosters and basically hand deals to players...roll out the red carpet type thing. Manage it for them in an indirect way.

We are very literally at the point where it is time for us to start recruiting. We can literally organize something here if we were so inclined. Who in here knows what they are doing? What is step 1? Volnation gots electrolytes

Thanks @hotcypress that's how I understood them as well. So if it's that easy, there's no need for these players to ever have to peddle anything, and there's no need for businesses to use them to market a product and bring ROI into the equation. Basically with this type of revenue stream available the player literally can profit off the fact that someone finds something of his/hers 'collectable'.

I found an article on NFT's last week and found the subject interesting, mostly due to the fact that any image/video can be an NFT and secondly that blockchain was the payment method. This was the article, from MLB discussing it.

Tennessee should be in PRIME position to capitalize on the NIL, unless our dysfunction between boosters continues to bite us.

Also - need everyone in the AD on board. Tennessee Fund/Vol Network/Ticket Office can’t see this as competition for their money. This helps land recruits which helps everything. Rising tide raises all ships type of deal. Hopefully new leadership gets that point through because there’s been too much competition amongst departments in the past.

I feel like NFT deals will be for the big dogs. There will likely still be a lot of Fulky/Pals type deals going down too. Great for Fulky’s great for Pals. Who knows though really and it will likely evolve daily, yearly moving forward

The best thing that we can do as fans right now is to buy the products our guys are marketing. I have two t-shirts already in my cart, the baseball shirt Gilbert is advertising, and one of the shirts the Mays brothers are advertising. The more money we spend on the products they endorse, the more money they will make, the more TN will get buzz for players making money. Who wants to buy the candles?

We dont have guys on this football team with name recognition. some hardcore fans don’t even know who’s on our team right now. NIL is about making money for the business as much as the player, and none of our players are marketable right now.

Each thread can start with a link to another site dedicated to the recruiting demographics ( 247 links, rivals, etc see hole in the roof threads) storage and presentation of the NFT itself
