Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

We need a hall of fame (inevitable hall of shame too) section of the board (within the recruiting forum) dedicated to volnation NFT deals realized. Each thread can start with a link to another site dedicated to the recruiting demographics ( 247 links, rivals, etc see hole in the roof threads) storage and presentation of the NFT itself

@Geaux_Vols should be all over this NFT thing. He probably knows half these guys from making edits for them already.

When is a player eligible for NIL benefits? When he signs, or when he enrolls? Looks like giving benefits to someone who is still in high school would be a recruiting violation. Even making promises to a recruit could be considered a violation. SIAP

Good question.

man, i've legitimately tried to understand the NFT thing, but i just can't get past how dumb it all seems. i just don't get it.

To be honest I don't either. But I'd read where an artist in New York sold an NFT of his work for over a million dollars. Regardless if you consider them 'collectable', or even 'investments', the money is there. For this application, I consider them a way to directly pay athletes just for being athletes, so why I agree it makes more sense for a bigger name to garner such attention, it doesn't mean that NFT's of any athlete couldn't be marketed.

Regardless, this is just one avenue of many revenue streams available to this generation of athlete. It's not as 'old school' as sitting down to do an autograph signing, or a meet and greet public appearance. That seems like a lot of hassle compared to someone marketing something for them, or monetizing their social media accounts.
