It's garbage
There has been very little wokeness so far. Covid has had some impact, but not awful so far. I agree it is not the same as it normally is. I am still going to watch as much as I can, cheer for our athletes who have worked their asses off for years, and enjoy it.

No idea what the actual truth is, but a journal from a Mexican officer that was supposedly at the Alamo claims he surrendered and was executed because Santa Anna said take no prisoners. But there are certainly other accounts as to how it happened as well. One of the fascinating things about history is we're never quite certain how exactly it all went down.
The winner always writes it.

I was talking to a coworker the other day about similar, but more related to the workforce....instant information, instant gratification, (much) less loyalty, mercenary mentality, etc. It really is an attitude and/or mentality of today, it seems.

I'm definitely a Vol. By birth, a Vol. I've seen a lot of good and a lot of bad. And all the bad hasn't just been this last decade or so....sorry to disappoint the younger folks. There were bad times back in the 70s and early 80s. It didn't matter. We were Vols, so we did Vol things. We went to the games because we loved the Vols, the fans, the tailgating, and yes. the pagentry and the pride and the tradition and all it entails.

While I'm typically a purist at heart (don't even get me started on MLB, cross division play, DH, etc.), let them all join. I don't care. It won't change my fandom of the Vols at all. Every Saturday, I will either be there or watch on TV or listen to (meh) Kesling on the radio or innerwebs, cheer for my Vols, hope we win, and enjoy the games and the people representing my hometown team. Corny, I know. I'm old. Get off my lawn.
Johnny couldn't beat Alabama until he did. Four times in a row, to be exact.

An Englishman, a Frenchman, a Spaniard, and a German were in a large crowd, straining to see a magician doing a card trick. The magician noticed and moved a little and said, " Can you see me now?"

The each responded: " 'Yes.' 'Oui.' 'Si.' 'Ja.' "

It took me a minute. I thought it was a joke about him being invisible and he wasn't.

Pretty TRICKY joke, you are quite the card.
