Drop of the hat the way I was using it meant that if a team leaves it open or the pocket collapses Milton can run it and pick up big yards.

I so want one of these QB's to breakout so bad but I'm just not on the Milton bandwagon yet. Does he look the part? Certainly does but why hasn't he done it in the past years? Yes we can talk about this system doesn't fit but the system doesn't keep you from running and passing accurately. Like we say on here all the time, if I'm wrong and he turns out to be a stud then by all means bring this post back up. Just not sold on "he looks the part.". We've had to many of those.

So wait…. You prefer Bailey or Hooker yet Hooker also under performed…. Hence why he left VT…. The only one who hasn’t under performed is Bailey but like someone else said scheme matters and if Huepel who is known to be a QB Guru has fixed Milton…. Then Milton is going to start there is too much upside to his abilities.
Take this with a grain of salt bc my person is far from a QB whisperer but he told me that he doesn’t feel that Bailey is even in the running for qb and a little surprised Maurer wasn’t ahead of him….. He hasn’t been any more consistent than the rest in practice and in the 11V11 at the end of practice….. they do a lot of work on running it with the qb and we know how that makes him look….. He feels it is either Milton or Hooker.

That’s not entirely true…… he runs a 4.6 40 and this system requires defenses to be more spread out and play man coverage more therefore leaving way more open field for QBs to run through.
It’s entirely true that his career long is 31 yards. 4.6 isn’t some ungodly speed. If he starts popping these runs, then I’ll revisit. Until then it’s conjecture.

Has he fixed him? What did he fix? (Everyone has a different answer.😫)

Ouch. Well hopefully that’s not true regarding Bailey. But yeah I saw the video of them doing pitch work and was thinking in my head… Bailey isn’t going to be doing that lol

talking about this reminds me of some good shows...

Bryan Sutton has an inroads through Mars Hill College, Tim, Jerry, and Bryan have done benefit shows there. Good times. Love to see the old timers listening to tunes.

Tim's son came out at one of his shows at Down Home and did an entire son in slap beats using his body as an instrument. Always like Tim, who is about as introverted as it gets. Little personality, but, can play any instrument and play it well. The guy truly is a musical genius.

It was so bad that you could see the terror on our team's face whenever he came into a game. I hate that he couldn't get it together here but that UF game was so bad that it just broke him mentally. If ever someone needed to leave in order to shake off the ghosts of their past it was him.
I got nervous with him taking victory formation snaps.

Plus, I'm an RV'er, so I run into Michigan fans all the time. They may be homers, but to a man, they miss the LB more than Milton. "U can have him". He balled out against Minnesota after that, well, their critique is not pretty. Like I said, hope I'm wrong, hope the light turns on, but I doubt it. I think Bailey is the guy, if not, give me the guy that's won at a comparable level and everybody says is a leader, Hooker.
Everyone is saying Bailey has no chance.

An underperforming Hooker sounds like a major disappointment......

Alvin Kamara ran a 4.6
And? I remember complaints that he got caught from behind from some of the mensa’s on here. He’s not ungodly fast either. He gets up to full speed real fast. 4.6 isn’t the coronation that Beastmode is making it out to be. Guys? Get excited as much as you wish. Don’t expect everybody to buy unseen and not yet occurred highlights as facts.

Dog, what about Milton makes lack confidence in him more so than Hooker?
Milton looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. I know, in 2021 that is sexist, but that kinda sums up my thoughts about Milton. Hooker has done it, before. Yes, in a one team conference, but I like the way the reporters talk about how much of a leader, maybe cheerleader (u can appreciate that) he is. I know nothing, these are my opinions, before we play a game. After that 1st game, I may be calling Milton the reincarnation of Condredge and Tee

That’s exactly what was said in the spring. Bailey is just not consistent enough in practice and scrimmages.

WTH are you talking about? He doesn’t lose his qualification…… how many nattys did Al Wilson win in his other three years at Tennessee…. I don’t understand the desire to dump on players like Tee who helped bring something we may never see again in our lifetime…. We should definitely be bragging about our trailblazers in the AA community especially since well over 90% of the players we recruit are AA….. it is huge, imo, that we had the first black QB and first black national champion in the SEC.

Apparently I am doing a poor job of making my point.

The original post said Al should have been on the list. Someome said Tee was the trailblazer not Al. Tee's trailblazing, according to the press release was being the first black QB on a NC team. My whole point, back to the op, was that the '98 team and ostensibly Tee doesn't get the NC without Al. Then Tee becomes just another good QB.

I wasn't knocking Tee, I was just saying the OP had a point even though Al doesn't have a trailblazing status, he had a whole lot to do with Tee's qualification.

I don't like sports statues or naming roads on campus. I am all for recognizing these men for their contributions to UT, just don't care for some of the ways the university does it.

Last point, putting up a statue of a person to try and impress recruits that we think "might identify" with that person is pandering. It's an insult to the honoree and the recruit. Let the men and the university stand on their merits and recognize them accordingly. Don't stoop to marketing it as a recruiting tool.

I think you have this all wrong. I’m not saying Joe Milton is going to be a world beater and I’ve already said I’m riding with Bailey. I’ve seen Baileys body of work and minus two interceptions in garbage time that weren’t really on him I think he is our best passer.

I’m more playing devils advocate in the fact that I can see why Milton is probably the guy Huepel wants for QB 1. He has all the athletic ability in the world. I’ve also said if he puts everything together he will definitely be the clear starter and that’s because he has that athletic ability.
