Milton looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. I know, in 2021 that is sexist, but that kinda sums up my thoughts about Milton. Hooker has done it, before. Yes, in a one team conference, but I like the way the reporters talk about how much of a leader, maybe cheerleader (u can appreciate that) he is. I know nothing, these are my opinions, before we play a game. After that 1st game, I may be calling Milton the reincarnation of Condredge and Tee
Thank you for the explanation!

I think you have this all wrong. I’m not saying Joe Milton is going to be a world beater and I’ve already said I’m riding with Bailey. I’ve seen Baileys body of work and minus two interceptions in garbage time that weren’t really on him I think he is our best passer.

I’m more playing devils advocate in the fact that I can see why Milton is probably the guy Huepel wants for QB 1. He has all the athletic ability in the world. I’ve also said if he puts everything together he will definitely be the clear starter and that’s because he has that athletic ability.
I’m not even weighing in on the QB competition. Not confident Bailey wins. This is not reaching the same conclusion based on the same information.

Apparently I am doing a poor job of making my point.

The original post said Al should have been on the list. Someome said Tee was the trailblazer not Al. Tee's trailblazing, according to the press release was being the first black QB on a NC team. My whole point, back to the op, was that the '98 team and ostensibly Tee doesn't get the NC without Al. Then Tee becomes just another good QB.

I wasn't knocking Tee, I was just saying the OP had a point even though Al doesn't have a trailblazing status, he had a whole lot to do with Tee's qualification.

I don't like sports statues or naming roads on campus. I am all for recognizing these men for their contributions to UT, just don't care for some of the ways the university does it.

Last point, putting up a statue of a person to try and impress recruits that we think "might identify" with that person is pandering. It's an insult to the honoree and the recruit. Let the men and the university stand on their merits and recognize them accordingly. Don't stoop to marketing it as a recruiting tool.
You are way over thinking this….. we should be celebrating everything we can about our past vol great…… Street signs….. statues….. standing on the sidelines during the games….. Anything and everything to celebrate our history and VFL’s.

Plus, I'm an RV'er, so I run into Michigan fans all the time. They may be homers, but to a man, they miss the LB more than Milton. "U can have him". He balled out against Minnesota after that, well, their critique is not pretty. Like I said, hope I'm wrong, hope the light turns on, but I doubt it. I think Bailey is the guy, if not, give me the guy that's won at a comparable level and everybody says is a leader, Hooker.
I don't understand why people keep picking who they want as QB rather than trusting Heupel will pick the guy he thinks best runs his offense? I just want to win. I don't care who the QB is as long as we win. And it's not like we have input in who the starter will be, or are even qualified to make that decision. The staff sees everything while we just get glimpses. I get it. Pruitt was a **** coach that road JG far too long, but when you bring in a whole new staff, you trust them until they give you reason not to. Especially when they've successfully run this offense over multiple stops.

Do world peace next. 😴

I understand your point. But the racists were saying it didn't matter how many Als you had, a black QB would lose a NC for you.

And after '98, a lot of people claimed Peyton just wasn't that "great" because he didn't win a NC like Tee did. So stupid comments aren't relegated to racism.

If we build statues for everyone that proved idiots wrong, we are going to run out of bronze and places to put them.

U are correct, I was just giving my opinion, whether anybody wanted to hear it or not

Maybe not, but, Bailey is still my guy. But, I really don't care, whoever gives UT the best chance to win
I love Bailey. Mainly because I followed his recruitment and watched him in high school. I liked what he did in the spring game. The coaches said they would put the players in positions to succeed. He can succeed without running or pitching the ball. So those skills that the other two have must be paired with ability to get the ball to the right guy and be a leader to win the job over him. They may just be looking better in certain drills. We know from experience that doesn't necessarily mean you can lead the team down the field.

Just put 'em where the Confederate statues used to be.

Milton is…. Good lord are you following your own conversation…. You are killing me tonight
Are you following YOURS? You brought up Kamara earlier. We’re not talking about goal line offense. We’re talking 70 yarders. Is trucking a defensive player at the end of one of those a necessity?

You want us to argue about Jordan and James?

Lol no but breaking tackles could be and I had commented on your post back to Volbeast… so again you aren’t following your own conversation.

You are killing my Smalls.

What's to argue? Jordan is the GOAT.
