Looks like not much is changing in the QB competition. Coaches really like Milton's upside and skillset, think Bailey needs time to develop and has more to work on and don't trust Maurer's decisionmaking or ability to lead the offense. I think Milton, Hooker and Bailey will play this year. The coaches need to keep them engaged and focused while their roles sort out. But CJH has always liked Milton, even though he's not where he needs to be. None of them are.

Surprising that Maurer took it so hard since he's known their assessment since spring. Not really surprising he stayed. He has knee-jerk reactions that lead to bad decisions-- which just validates the assessment that he's not ready to be the guy to lead this team. Like Salter, Maurer might benefit from a fresh start, but hopefully, he can continue to be a good teammate and student while he's here. UT's good for him, even if he ultimately goes elsewhere.

I don't give a runny crap how strong his arm is, or how tight a spiral he throws, or how big strong and fast he is..IF..he is not accurate..consistently accurate..I do not wanna see him QBing the team. That is what matters when it comes to this offense moving the chains and scoring efficiently and often.
Well…. Funny you say that considering that pass he threw was over the top of a DB in the endzone where only Hyatt could catch it….

Even the last sack'o taters threw a good pass once in a blue moon, so that one pass doesn't impress me...do it most of the time and I will be impressed.

I was going to be mildly surprised if Bailey didn’t start because I thought he had the tools. But sounds like Milton is going to be the one, which I’m fine with. But playing Bailey in spots and in blowouts sounds like a good plan. Both could help.

That's all great but I would be more impressed if he can hit a WR 10 - 20 yards down the field. Being able to throw a ball that far is impressive but we need accuracy and consistency.
I don't understand why this is so hard to comprehend..it's like people just vaporlock the first time they see him zipping the ball around the field 80 mph..whether it's caught or not...

I hope he becomes a consistently accurate passer, but I am not, I just can not bank on it....it is a skill that seems hard to just suddenly have.
