Hey folks. I haven’t done this before. But I know how generous and caring all of you are. If you can spare a few dollars, my buddy could benefit from your prayers and support. Full disclosure, he’s a Vandy fan, so he’s not perfect. But this guy is one of the best men I’ve ever known. We went to church together before my family and I moved to Georgia. He and his wife volunteered with the kids’ program, and he was such a fan of our kiddos. He always encouraged me and is one of those guys that I could count on for an encouraging hug or high five exactly when I needed it.

There was a horrible accident at his job, and he is in bad shape. He needs your prayers. If you can, I am sure they would appreciate any financial support.

And only on VN are 9 wins seasons ridiculed

Unreal how ungrateful and forgetful this board is of the only few good years we have had in recent memories

We have wasted so much talent here. Our problem hasn’t been talent, it has been coaching. I’m
Not saying we have Bama or UGA talent. But we have been equal or had more talent than every other team we have played. Coaching has killed us. Let’s hope JH can coach them up because 8-4 and 9-3 seasons should be the norm with who all we play.
The real missed opportunity post-2008 was 2015-17 under Butch. The 2015 team should have won 10 games and had an SECCG berth, and that was with a team that was deemed by many before the season as not quite "ready to win" yet. The 2016 squad brought back all the key pieces, but somehow lost to South Carolina and Vandy. If they did not burn Dobbs's redshirt in 2013, he likely would have come back for the 2017 season, which I think drastically changes the direction of that season.

Butch still likely ends up fired because he could not develop the talent he acquired, but if he got the aforementioned results his recruiting likely does not drop off and he could have stuck around a few more years. He gets a lot of grief here, and for good reason, but it is amazing just how close he got to making it here.

2015 losses to Oklahoma, Florida, and Arkansas were inexcusable. Stepping up to Bama in their stadium deserves credit.

2016 losses to South Carolina (off of a bye, with the East still on the line) and Vanderbilt (with a ticket to the Sugar Bowl on the line) are beyond inexcusable.

And every season since, we are reminded of what we had on that team with talent popping here and there in the NFL. 2015 and 2016 should have had 20 reg season wins minimum between them and at least one East title. Completely mismanaged, it still pisses me off.
