My questions for this team:

1. Will the offense struggle against physical teams that disrupt receivers ability to get separation?
2. Will the off-season’s focus on building camaraderie translate to on-field results (I.e. never give up attitudes and comeback wins).
3. Who will step up and be the alpha dog on defense?

USC is starting a Grad Asst at QB and they are going to finish ahead of us? I laft.
If he is the QB against us and wins…. That will be a new low in Tennessee football…. I wonder why people think they are better than us…. That is the most important position on the field.

Well ok then…..

A&M wanted to win. They went out and got there guy. Money was no object. Now they're one of the top teams in college football with a chance at the playoff this year if they can beat bama. TN could have done this, but didn't. Have to hope that if Heupel turns out to be the guy that we will make the same financial commitment to keep him

Holy hell. All day with you people. Lol. I’m not saying under the new regime. He didn’t get a fair shake under the last regime. They barely practiced him and then thrust him into duty against some of our top teams (not Vandy). They never intended to play him and never really developed him at all. So when JH gets here, he has barely any reps and still needs a lot of development. Kid has talent and is a smart football player. JH knew he needed to groom our QBs and went and got Milton. Milton is his guy and has everything he wants in a QB. Hopefully, JH fixed a lot of Miltons flaws and he balls out this year. It gives Bailey a year to learn and grow and fight for the spot next year. I’m just pointing out to the people who say these coaching staffs don’t like Bailey or that he won’t ever play here could be way wrong. He didn’t get a fair shake under Pruitt and company because they royally sucked. And now he is essentially in his first year of real development. Can we move on now?
Then perhaps you need to address your wording. You went straight from calling Milton JH's "guy" to flat out saying Bailey didn't "get a fair shake". No mention that it was the last staff that didn't give him a fair shake. Your wording very much insinuated that it was JH screwing him over and picking Milton. Can't blame that on everyone else, that's on you not making it clear.

Most people don't think HB is a bad QB, they just don't have the same love affair with the kid. I hope the best for him, hope he develops into a dynamic QB, but I trust Heupel will play the guy who gets it done in the games. Based on practices, which is all he currently has to go on, he feels that's Milton. If Milton struggles, I'm sure we'll see someone else. I don't think Heupel will ride with one QB if they're not getting it done. I don't foresee a JG situation happening.

Haynes King is slaw. They will go 8-4, 9-3

Yep…. For whatever reason a few posters seem emotionally tied to Bailey.
Lol. Or people are not bashing him or saying he is horrible in practices when he isn’t. He just got beat out by someone who was brought in to be QB1 the day he stepped on campus. He came in as QB1 and no other QB could take it from him. So I’m excited to see him play. Posters can defend a player without saying he is bad and hope he turns into a star one day. But you and others only want to turn it into posters bashing JH and Milton when no one is doing that.

It's been an ugly offseason from an injury perspective. Everything else was probably tolerable, but the loss of Pickens and Darnell Washington really hurts. JT Daniels was developing a good understanding with those guys; "in case of emergency, I'll throw it up and you haul it in". Plus, both had greatly improved their blocking skills.

Honestly, if I was in Vegas this weekend I'd bet against UGA. Clemson is gonna pin their ears back and attack the LOS repeatedly, against both run and pass, from multiple directions, and challenge Georgia to find an open receiver quickly and beat them through the air. That's what I'd do and I think it'll work. Fortunately we have a few easier games after that one, so hopefully they'll keep their chin up, get healthy and regroup.
I have money on Clemson. But I am worried about your D line against their O line.

RF, my mom needs you prayers. She was hospitalized yesterday with COVID. On a vent. She got sick 2 days after getting her first vaccination. She is my hero for all she sacrificed in raising me as a single parent. I am headed back on E-leave tomorrow from SW Asia. I pray she can see, hug and kiss her grandchildren again. My girls are what she lives for. She hasn't seen them in almost 3 mo.
Oh my goodness. Prayers and prayers!

Pitt defense has some good players on it. Will not be a pushover

They def have some good players but last yrs Pitt defense had 5 draft picks who wont be there this yr. Highest was a 3rd rounder to Minn and a 4th Rounder to the Titans. Thats alot of nfl caliber players to lose off a defense esp for a program like Pitt.

Not at at all…. I was a huge Bailey fan when I thought he was out only hope…. I just didn’t see JG, Maure, or Shrout being any good…. The only issue I have is people not believing he was given a fair chance…. He has not out performed the other QBs….. that is not just me saying it but also every report I have seen on the situation…. He was 3rd coming into the spring with no Joe Milton here and he remains 3rd on the depth chart…. If Joe and Hooker fail so that Bailey gets his shot…. I will become the biggest Bailey fan possible. I just want to win football games.
I don't know what the deal is, I just know what my eyes saw him do in HS, but it doesn't matter, Milton is the guy and I want him to do great because I love the Vols. I do hope Baileys loyalty is rewarded with a real chance somewhere at some point with somebody that believesin him...Mike Leach would kill it with the kid in his system imo.

Couldn’t have a better 2nd game this year imo.

Not a top 10 level team but we will have to play good to win. Play relatively poor and we lose that game.
Oh yeah. They can beat us. But they aren't a great team. If we play up to what we are capable of, we should beat them.

I don’t understand the problem. You have been saying this all day.

I'm a pretty bright guy but it has sounded to me like you were calling out Heupel for slighting HB. If that isn't the case, then yes, let's move on.
That is not the case. He gave every QB a chance. But anyone thinking that Milton wasn’t QB1 the day he stepped on campus is fooling themselves. But it was up to the other QBs to take it from him and show they are better. They didn’t do that and Milton has looked good all fall. So he has earned the starting job. But I have faith that Bailey can be a good QB here in the future.

No reason at all that can't be at UT. If Milton is great, he'll be gone long before HB is done. If he isn't great, HB may get the chance sooner than later.

This is the best take IMO. No need to give up on HB at all. Joe has to show he can take his talents and produce on the field. He’s starting but has to keep his job by producing.
