I honestly still don't see why the QB thing is such a point of debate. The guy with the record setting offenses, a national championship, and runner-up for the Heisman, evaluated the roster and for whatever reason determined that he wanted something more than what was there. He recruited another QB that he felt better meet the need. During practices and scrimmages he didn't see anything that changed his mind. Great. I think I would be more surprised if he recruited the new guy and then he didn't pan out.
Now why he determined that he didn't see what he wanted to see is a mystery to me, because to my untrained eye, HB looked pretty good. But that is key..."my untrained eye". Of course 8 seconds after Joe screws up, I'll be screaming for HB like everyone else. But for now, it seems prudent to at least give the coach with the consistent record of accomplishment the benefit of the doubt.
