Not saying LSU isn’t a top gig, I’m saying it’s not worlds apart from Auburn from a facilities, administrative, or even football perspective. LSU’s AD is under investigation for how much he protected his coach and players from liability in domestic violence and sexual assault cases. He may be out before too long.

I have no idea if he’d take the LSU job, but he doesn’t seem to be looking to clean up a mess, and LSU will most likely be a mess.
Idk LSU can probably be right back to title contention in year 2. Loaded roster. From a football perspective I don’t think there will be much mess to clean up. If LSU cleans house they’ll bring in someone else who continues putting football first.

Agreed that oline will take time to fix and I didn’t see any playmakers at RB or WR to at least help the QB who also looks average since he never looks to run
they won’t see a DL/front 7 that good again this year unless they play Alabama in the playoffs.
This was just a horrrendous match up for them especially as a season opener.
Clemson does not look special at RB this year. Maybe they have a freshmen on the roster who might break out.

This DJ kid played really well bs Norte Dame last year in his one start. And there is a noticeable difference in talent at WR this year

CJH has lost 1 game in his whole career by more than 1 touchdown and that was last year to BYU in UCF’s bowl game. Maybe we get waxed by Pitt, but if his coaching history shows us anything is that it will be a close game or a Tennessee blowout.

our ability to run the ball will keep us in almost every game

My family was in the restaurant business for a long time until my mom and dad got divorced...I agree, and I can tell the difference between rude lazy indifference, and a overwhelmed person doing their best...

The point stands..I don't pay people that won't and don't do their job.
We eat out more than we should. I’ve noticed something that I think is more than a coincidence. If the service and food are great, there’s a great manager there (running around helping, checking with guests to make sure everything is OK, etc.). When things are crappy, there’s no manager in sight or, if there is one, he/she is too busy cutting up with the employees to care about whether or not the customers are happy.

And we are great tippers!

To all our fans who were making fun of Vanderbilt after their loss. I don’t know what to say. We finally get an all-girls football team in the SEC and you guys can’t even show a modicum of respect. smh.

The following table shows total offense, total defense, the difference, the strength of schedule so far, and the remaining strength of schedule, for some teams of interest. The offense, defense, and offense-defense margin columns are sorted by performance.

The biggest takeaway I think is as expected Missouri’s new defense is having growing pains. ESPN dropped them behind us in their FPI rankings.

Heupel said we struggled with offensive efficiency on Thursday. ESPN graded our offensive efficiency at 45.6%, defense at 61.6%, and special teams at 34.8%. Overall, ESPN says our team operated with an efficiency of 50.3% in our first game. TIFWIW.

We may have lots of room where we can improve, everywhere. #GBO

It’s good to see these again, @ChattaTNVol. Thanks.

Maybe not but blitzing linebackers is not a new concept…Clemson decided not to block them

Really glad that didn’t work out.

Had any good beers lately? I’m racking up a collection of BA stouts that is getting out of control 😆
Same here, really glad we didn’t hire Elliott.

I’m back to drinking whatever is cold these days 😆. I still love good craft beer but don’t seek it out like I used to. Got some good local Irish red ale and Octoberfest beers that I’ve been drinking this weekend. Just enough flavor to keep me from getting bored.

Only way to win vs Pitt is to control the run game. We don't have the talent to pass on them.

I guess for $20 million, any school would do that.

They shouldn't. There are plenty of other ways for a donor to get his/her name on something and while this does follow the pattern of endowed Chairs and other teaching appointments those positions tend to be established by the donor when such a specialization doesn't exist. For example, I give the Philosophy Dept. enough $$ to endow a new chair/teaching position and they call it the UTProf Chair in Applied Volology, Rhetoric and Web Forum Fappery -- that position is new and I gave the money for the purpose of establishing a position in Volology. The endowment creates and funds the position and is usually done to fill a void ergo I deserve some name recognition for bringing in a Volology specialist.

In this case, the coaching position is pre-existing and would've continued to exist with or without this donor. It's the worst sort of egotism.

In truth, a lot of chairs are actually named after people important to the university (past professors, faculty, etc.) or named by the donor in memory of someone but what they do is fund teaching and research position that were not pre-existing. Endowments have absolutely been turned down for several reasons including departmental concerns about autonomy (I know of a specific one at UT that was but it had nothing to do with sports and everything to do with a group attempting to influence how a subject was taught). The AD should definitely be concerned about autonomy with a donor slapping his name on the coaching position.

Put it another way... Our boosters already hate each other and can't agree on the color of the sky on any given day. Could you imagine the fallout if the AD was dumb enough to call our HC the Jimmy Haslam 07 Football coach?

I tip well when the service is good, I will tip even better if I see the server is harried and trying their best when they are obviously tired and overwhelmed...I will leave a penny just to be as big a jackass as the server if they are a rude indifferent lazy jerk.

I absolutely hate bad service, and you are right, it always comes down to management...my mom would fire a bad waitress on their first day if she detected a piss poor attitude.

There only 2 times where the linebacker came thru Scott free.
The rest they just beat their blockers head up.
The problem was more simulated pressures and zone dogs.
I saw UGA rush more than 5 about three times give or take a couple I may have missed rewatching.
Athlete vs athlete, Clemson got beat more times than they won at every position on that offensive line.
That was as bad an ass whipping I’ve seen a front 4 hand out vs another “top” team

Anybody told @VolsDoc81TX we're in a new thread? He liked one of my post in the old thread.

Did that just for fun…

Read somewhere that Umass was even worse opponent than BG. 1 win in last two years and only scored 12 pts in their 0-4 season last yr

I posted that during the Pitt game. Yeah UMass is worse than VAndy.

When you’re a VANDY fan and get schooled by a much dumber Tennessee fan.
(re: Andy installing unlimited soft drink refill stations throughout the stadium)

It is comical that universities are acting like they care about people's health in some areas but not others. The university of Arkansas banned a motorcycle rally of 15k people from using their parking lots in the name of covid, then hosted a sell out football game with 80k people?

However I do love the moron Vandy fan not realizing water fountains provide unlimited water haha
