Max Johnson has that job locked up for another year or two unless they bring in Arch.

Yeah true, if he stays. But HB has 4 years left so he might be willing to sit next year behind Max. Cause regardless of how good Arch is he won't be on campus until the year after. So if Max left after Junior year for draft and HB had been there a year it'd seem Arch would RS that first year and HB would get at least one season to be "the guy" (which would be his 4th year in college).

We're also not even sure Arch goes to LSU 247 has them outside his top 5 atm.

Could be wrong, but I think Texas might have the best shot to land Arch. Especially if they are in the SEC before he signs.

Yet we have one of the worst 3rd down defensive effiencies in the nation sadly
We have always struggled with this. Is nothing new. We struggled on 3rd and Chavis and every subsequent DC.

I truly think having a serviceable defense is best. Win games on O, and, then get a couple stops. However to your point, Bama was 80% on 3rd down. That has to change and will with recruiting.

The QB situation is gonna be difficult for every team to manage moving forward bc of the portal.

Heard Luginbill on the radio last night and he was saying how it’s gonna be almost impossible to keep multiple QBs on scholarship every year. Also talked about how a lot of coaches are being careful on accepting commits bc they want to work the portal.
Yes and No. I get where this is coming from, but I think there are going to be a lot of kids that need to be careful what they wish for. They may not end up where they think they will.

It’s been frustrating for as long as I can remember!

You mean 8th QB? I haven’t seen Kiper’s mock but there’s no way he’s the 8th overall player, right?

Yeah 8th rated QB (atm). I think 4 more strong showings and that climbs.

He's arguably the 2nd or 3rd best QB in the SEC right now that is eligible to enter the draft (that's the key point though).

Will Rogers, Max Johnson, Bryce Young are all just sophomores. So Corral is really the only sec QB most would ranked ahead of HH that's draft eligible and the gap between those two is actually pretty slim.

Hooker in the SEC is 3rd in completion %, 1st in QB rating, 1st in YPA, 4th in passing TDs, 2nd in fewest INTs, 4th in rushing yards, all with the fewest attempts of anyone in the conference...

Even if Bailey goes elsewhere and does well, he clearly doesn't fit this system. Being buried on our depth chart doesn't make him a bad QB. If he goes elsewhere and stars, it doesn't mean our coaches made a mistake. You can't fit a square peg in a round hole.

how did enough people collectively think this was a good idea so much that it actually happened?
Uh… and apparently some are still thinking it was a good idea, based on the interviewed people quoted in that article.

I’m gonna sound all @Ulysees E. McGill here, but I think society might just be totally broken at this point.

Florida State would be another potential landing spot for HB...Milton is gone after this season and Travis hasn't really looked the part. Got some connections with YAC and I'm sure Norvell would be able to groom him.

Edit: Also after what they've done this year if I'm HB I'd be looking at Pitt as well, Pickett will most likely be the #1 QB taken in the draft and that competition there will be wide open.

Hot take

If Bailey didn’t ascend past 3rd string under Heupel, he will be no Jedi knight under anyone else either, but best of luck

in the middle of a season?! 🤔 as Ive said, I think he needs to transfer, the rub was timing
If coaches told him he has no chance here (or implied it by putting him 4th string or something like that), he's wise to get on other teams' radars as soon as possible. It also helps us with recruiting if prospects know a former 5* recruit isn't crowding the locker room.

It doesn’t help with recruiting…. We already have our QB committed

4th string??

We're an injury away from beating Kentucky.

You dont bail on your teammates, gospel.
