Can someone explain how naming a professional Sports Team the Braves is racist? The chop is literally an arm movement. No one is being negative about anyone's culture. Being called a 'Brave' wouldnt be insulting to me if I were anything more than 1/25 Cherokee.

In fact, unlike being called an 'Indian' or 'Redskin', 'Brave' would have a positive connotation for my culture. Idiocy.
Hit the nail on the head. I also don’t think these northern sports “journalists” realize that almost everybody in the south has at least some Native American heritage.

This is what my VA Tech buddy sent me...

o if Napier does become the guy at VT he would try to implement a Bama type culture and football operations at VT. In articles it's been stated he's even used the term "the journey" as kind of a copy of the process. Think Napier would definitely get some of Alabama influence into his staff here like he's had at his Louisiana staff. Was thinking of Alabama connections he would have that could make sense for VT especially if he wants to budget his money to make sure we have a big support staff. Think might be good to catch some rising stars in some instances: Doug Belk - Current DC for Houston from GA that's considered a rising star (was elevated from Co-DC so GA wouldn't take him as safeties coach). Was a GA at Alabama while Napier was there. Maybe something to watch out for how Houston's defense looks against SMU this Saturday Jeff Norrid - Current OL coach for Napier at Louisiana that spent 3 years at Bama as offensive quality control. Also worked at Auburn and was the OL coach for FAU with Kiffin for a year. Mark Hocke - Current strength coach for Louisiana that has 6 years of experience at Alabama as well as working at Georgia, Florida State and Texas A&M. Mike Miller - Current TEs coach for Maryland that spent 2 years at Alabama. Also was a student assistant under Dabo. Time didn't overlap with Napier at Bama but still someone that's currently coaching in region with Bama ties. Was on 247 30 under 30 list a couple of years ago. Kyle Pope - Current DL for Memphis but he is very young. Was at Alabama for 2 years then coached at Liberty before going to Memphis. Known as a great recruiter and was on the 247 30 under 30 list for this year Johnathan Galante - Special teams football analyst for Alabama that was a grad assistant at VT too. Maybe would want to come back as support staff. Anybody know of any coaches (besides Charles Huff) that grew up in our region and has experience at Alabama.

Go ahead. I got real tired of trying to be Bama over the years, and I’ve sort of come to the conclusion that you can’t beat Bama at being Bama. Almost all the HC’s that have beaten Saban during his tenure have been offensive guys. Glad we finally got an offensive guy, and that we seem to have finally quit trying to be someone else.

Aldra Wilson and I are products of the same town and high school. His mother was the ISS coordinator, and she was more hard-nosed than Al. Great lady! Knowing how she dealt with me when I’d show up in the basement of the west campus at JCM, it’s no surprise Al reached the heights he did.

Has anyone ever gave CBD oil to their dog? I know there are some for dogs and my oldest chocolate lab is starting to show signs of arthritis. Of course I don't want him to be in pain and am willing to try natural CBD oil if it works.

One of our dogs has really bad anxiety issues when people come over they are terrified. Got some CBD treats for her and they work like a charm. Was also amazing for fireworks on 4th of July

We will go 6-6 this year and probably around that mark next year with Hendon Hooker. Bailey will transfer, take over the reins wherever that may be and win the conference. While we have a dynamic offense that puts up great #’s against the bottom of the barrel teams.

You're always so defensive when someone replies the way you do...it's weird.

My first sentence was the only one related to Kentucky specifically. The rest a comment on the team and previous opponents where our defense has faded in every loss giving up more points & yardage than earlier in the game. That's just the way things have gone, statistically speaking we're a far better defense in the 1st half than the 2nd half.

I'm not going to put you on ignore, I have no problem with you. We can have back/forth discussions where we're BOTH opinionated and acting like assholes. You don't get the exclusive right to mouth off and be Mr. attitude. So if you can't handle replies in the same way you give them then maybe you should put me on ignore.
Literally didn’t say anything bad to you and you went off and are still going off. You came at me with “sometimes I don’t think you read the entire post before firing off on a tangent that you yourself made up.” I didn’t make anything up. I quoted what you wrote. If you can’t have a discussion without getting sensitive, then ignore me. I didn’t come at you at all. And then try to say I’m being an a**hole and defensive when it is the exact opposite lol. Please show me where anything I said was with an attitude, being an a**hole, or defensive until you smarted off?

There's just no point in doing that. Not fair to the other folks in the thread to have a pointless back and forth.

You're right and I'm wrong, take a victory lap I guess.

I'm convinced there's a growing group of people who are so insecure they feel the need to try to improve their self confidence by being more sensitive than everyone else. It started with decent people feeling better about themselves for not being like horrible people, but once society largely eradicated those horrible people, they had to find someone else to be better than. Over the past decade they've just kept one upping each other in a race to be the most culturally/ethnically/lifestyle sensitive, so it's gotten to absurd levels. But if someone's self worth and self image is based on being more progressive or sensitive than others, they're not going to ever be satisfied with any level of sensitivity.
