Expecting it, and thinking it was possible are two different things. This team has way outperformed their ability. We hired a really good coach...he is doing way better than I thought he could with this patched up duct-tape and bailing wire squad.
So far we've won every game I expected. The only one that was even close was last night's game against Kentucky. IIRC, I said I didn't know enough about Pitt to predict that game, and I thought Ole Miss was a toss up. I said BG, TN Tech, Mizzou, SCar, KY, S. Ala., and Vandy would all be wins. Barring complete catastrophe, South Alabama and Vandy should be wins.

And I did say I expected it from this staff. I had faith, and so far, it's been rewarded.

Still have all my screens going watching these late games. On NBC Sports they switch to Ninja Warrior. Some dude comes out in the orange and white striped basketball pants, rips them off, and he's got an orange and white checkerboard speedo. They cut the crowd and it's a bunch of people in orange shaking orange and white shakers. Sure enough the dude was a VFL and crushed it.
We are everywhere

Blows my mind how we only had the ball for 13 something minutes and still put up 38 points and easily could of scored more.
Saw something on Reddit where this was the third time a team possessed the ball for more than 45 minutes, and the other two won their games something like 58-7 and 40-7.

I know you're not saying Hendon does not deserve some credit because he clearly does too. He bought in , put in the work, takes good coaching, and has become a leader. A big win for everyone.
Both statements can be true. HH has put in the work, but he's also benefitted from having Heupel as his coach.

When he started, I seriously thought he was going to cuss out the press like he did the refs. This is a man who 100% going to have a serious medical event if he doesn't find a happy place.

But also, he did sound more mentally reasonable in the presser than he ever does on the sideline.

If you're interested he seemed to really feel like the tempo is an advantage for UT. He also deals a little w/ the facemask. Seems like he didn't think it was the difference in the game b/c they got it right back next play.

Honestly after watching his presser, I like him. He didn't make excuses. He broke down the issues well. He has made Kentucky football relevant.

I will say though, with a school like that you need a coach like ours that can scheme you wins. Future is bright. I hope Hype can keep his staff together. If so Tennessee football is going to be so much fun to watch.

To be fair, those announcers were so rotten that I wanted to cut my ears off. Listening to Gary Danielson would have been a dream compared to that.
I remember the sequence in the first quarter where the dude kept harping about Payton's knee being down and we got two extra yards. Then Hendon hit Velus for that long score and he shut right up, LOL.

Though I was upset at the time, I'm glad they made the long fourth down. Now, they have zero excuses.

Just woke up to see the win! What a win for Heupel and crew! Hopefully this can lead to some success in recruiting.
Just woke up and saw we won!

Great win for the program!

Looks like it must have been an ugly one though. Can’t believe we gave up that many yards. Will be interesting to rewatch.

Final thought/complaint: Why does Florida wait till after the Tennessee game to utterly collapse!?

The fans will complain but you are right. That was negated by 4th and 24 🙄
