Didnā€™t Aranda grow up like an hour from USC? Granted, his road to conference championships is about to get easier in the Big 12, but Oregon should be USCā€™s only real competition in the PAC 12 year in and year out.

Besides, with Texas and Oklahoma gone, I could see any team coming out of that conference trying to make the playoffs in the future having the same issues Cincinnati had getting in this year.
With the playoffs expanding, i donā€™t see that being an issue. But cinci doesnā€™t have issues getting in. If they win out they are in.

I dont like it either. You're not alone lol. I dont need any added pressure to enjoy college football. There's plenty of stress to go around during Tennessee games. Thats enough for one day.
Exactly. Watching to see if other teams will do what they need to to help Tennessee plus Tennessee itself is enough.

What makes it garbage?
Players get away with stuff like travels way more often than they should.
The ticky tack touch fouls (which I know are a point of emphasis this year)
Effort in general. Besides the last 3-4 minutes of each half most teams don't play defense and just give up free shots instead of trying.

I donā€™t know much about the guy, why is he so coveted?

Because he's from the Saban tree and has beat a bunch of mediocre teams at Louisiana.

Facts: his only P5 win at Louisiana was an overrated ISU team in a covid year.

He got 20 balled by a terrible 4 win Texas team this year.

He barely skated by Arky State by 1 pt.

He's an "offensive" guy yet they're 65th in total offense.

Lastly, he name searches himself on twitter and blocks anybody with even the slightest amount of negative critisism. He's insecure. If you're not comfortable in your skin, you're not going to make it in this league.

Good offense > good defense. It may not look like players aren't playing defense, but they are. Dude's are just that good.

There are a few players like Harden, etc who will take some plays off, but those kind of guys have earned it if they're dominating on the offensive side of the court.

This is a really interesting point - when Tennessee is having a competitive season and is in the top 25, I tend to follow ALL college games with much more interest and enjoyment. When UT is terrible (as has been the case a lot during the last 10+ years), I suddenly donā€™t care a whole lot about that noon game between #15 Coastal Carolina and underdog Western Kentucky.

You can watch games and just see the effort tick up. These players at best go 50% for 80% of the game and go 100 for maybe 20

I'm kinda the opposite. I turn into a completely different person when UT and FSU are good. I get so pissed/nervous when I watch them play.
I love watching games when I could care less what happens........I don't get pissed and break sh!+. My wife likes it too.

This is true for me too. I've enjoyed college football as a whole way more this year than i have in probably the last 5 years.

The most over generalized statement on your last one. Just not true whatsoever. College bball is so sloppy and not smooth plus NBA has the best players in the world. Fandom can cause people to like college more but the product on the court is far superior in NBA. Same for NFL, same for MLB
