Would be nice if we could go on a 7 to 8 year run with the same coach and coordinators. Not sure that’s possible anymore, but still.

I love the thought of that! Remember the 90s when we kept our coaches. Maybe coaches will return to finding a home somewhere they love with people they love to work with. Maybe that will become more important than be the latest splash hire making more money.

What happens inside the program should stay inside the program. Tough concept in today's world. Fortunately Coach Heup seems to believe that.

While he was at Miss St, Mullen interviewed with Tennessee on two separate occasions and we moved on from him twice.

I guess that I knew about when we "had him" before Florida came open. Didn't know about the apparent time before that, but I guess we were one of the programs/ADs that put that info out there on him being a really strange/terrible interview.

Another interesting point from Bud Elliott:

College football has countless examples of great playcallers that don't have rings because they cant recruit. But there are examples of coaches that aren't great schemers or gameday coaches that have won strictly because of recruiting.
