Exactly, Nathan freaking Peterman went in the 5th round.

And before y’all bring up what he did at Pitt his stats that year:
60.5% 2855 yds 27 TDs 7 INTs

(Hooker’s stats are better in less games)

I’m afraid that the scouts’ take on Hooker is that he is a product of Heupel’s system more than him just being a good QB.

If I’m Oklahoma, I’m backing up the Brink’s truck for Mark Stoops if Riley takes the LSU job. Stoops would make them so much more physical than they’ve been in recent years. I actually think Stoops is also a better hire than Riley is for LSU.

I hope Riley stays because, man, we really don’t need the speculation going on right now.

Not only will the fanbase be a wreck, but I imagine it will be used against us in recruiting, and at the most crucial part of the calendar.

Massive? When was the last time OU finished 10 spots better than LSU?
How many NCs has Okie won in the last fifteen years depite having a cakewalk to the playoffs...now how many has LSU won in the same period despite having Ed O and Les Miles as HCs and being in the SEC west.

No one is coming after Heupel. We do this every year lol. Vol Nation was convinced after Year 2 of Pruitt that he was Alabama’s head coach in waiting haha.

Your argument was recruiting, not championship rings. 😂

OMG...it is a massively better job just based on recruiting..period.

I’m honestly not worried about Oklahoma going after Heupel. He just doesn’t have a long enough track record in the power 5 to warrant them offering him the HC job. People will understandably compare the situation with Kiffin when he left UT for USC but it’s a little different in that Kiffin was also a NFL HC for a short period so he had a better resume.

With respect to Heupel, I highly doubt they’ll look at him. If they do he’s probably their 4-5th option. Resume isn’t quite there

Oklahoma is about to become a whole lot tougher job than it has been the last few decades. Not sure they’re at the point where a sitting power 5 HC with a career winning record is their 5th choice anymore. That said, if Bob Stoops is heavily involved in the search, I really hope he lobbies hard for his brother.

Until he balls out at the combine.

Y’all just don’t seem in touch with how the NFL scouts see things. Cause when Hooker shows up at 6’4” 220+ and runs 4.6-4.7 while being able to make all the throws with his stats against the SEC. He’s gonna be in quite a few top 5 list for QBs.

The fact Heupel QBs have actually had some success in the NFL also will help him.

I 💯 want him to return, I don’t know if he can improve his draft stock. But I know he can have Heisman buzz and potentially improve his stats and win 10 games. But do any of those things equal him getting drafted in a better spot? I don’t know…next year’s class is going to have some big names & be deep.

I’m not really worried he will leave. I’m worried the wrong people will believe he might (namely recruits and transfers).

So has clemson turned the corner? Do we still want them in a bowl game? They looked pretty legit tonight
