Yup. Isn't there a bit of bad blood there anyway? Don't think Heupel cares to return. And if OU doesn't even vet him - then that would probably just add fuel and we can put that annual fear to rest forever. Not that some will.

Doesn’t matter if it’s real…it’s an anchor on recruiting until it’s nipped.

Missed the Napier hire. All I can say is 🤭😂

UF fans will drool over his 11-1 record in the mighty (whatever) conference....but if you look a little closer:

Lost to a BAD texas team by 20
Beat FCS Nichols St by 3(😭)
Beat 3-9 Ga Southern by 1 score
Beat 5-7 South Bama by 2 points 🥴
Beat 2-10 Arky St by 1 point 🤢
Beat Ga St by 4 points
Beat 4-8 La Monroe by 5 points 😄

They're a handful of plays from being 5-7 in some bum conference...somehow they're just blatantly ignoring all the luck. That's about as bad as that "12-0" 2012 ND team...that got royally reamed on national TV for the title...or the "10-2" 2016 Northwestern team. Let's just say winning half your games by 1 or 2 plays tells the actual expected wins is much less. And "luck" doesn't exist. It's merely hiding reality and the eventual "regression to the mean".

They'll be lucky to make a bowl game next year with Bill as their HC. Great for us is all I know. Heupel gonna have a lot of fun with that goofball 😂
Follow-Up...

I thought I might just be being unfair and cherrypicking his most recent year. So, out of intellectual honesty - I gave him another season. Maybe in 2020 he really steamrolled his way and wasn't just lucky winning a bunch of coin flips...

Naw 😂😭😭

3 pt win over Ga St
2 pt win over Ga Southern
4 pt win over UAB
10 pt win over 2-10 Texas St
7 pt win over Arky St
3 pt win over App St
7 pt win over UTSA

He either made a deal with the devil and should head straight to Vegas to play craps or he's just a meaty okre coach waiting to be exposed 🤭😭

Imagine how all these players are feeling with the crazy coaching carousel. Media throwing out names everywhere, and you can’t trust your coach to tell you the truth. Even if they do, it could change tomorrow.
That had to be a weird feeling for OK. Fans giddy after he says he wont coach LSU. . . then slapped in the face the next day.
