they should be begging him to take the reins for a couple/few years. At least until they're in the new conference.

They need someone that knows the program, the ins and outs, has the experience. You can't find all of that anywhere else. Especially if they're swinging and missing behind the scene. And you need someone respectable and experienced to lead the migration into a new conference.

I know Stoops wants to stay home with his feet kicked up. But if you keep one foot in, and the floor falls out, you might get sucked in too.
