I'm a little late to the party today but I did see you mention something about Gibbs and now that's not going to happen--or so you think. Did I misinterpret your comment that that's what got you all excited? Or are you still just as excited as you were the other day when everyone was going crazy about Arch Manning and Cutcliffe?

It sounds like what we call in politics "Bundling." Essentially, a fundraiser takes a lot of little donors (often just their names) and bundles those max donations together for a mega-donation that skirts campaign rules since technically they're a bunch of names right at the limit. You could apply the same principle to NIL and bundle all your little stores, corporations, businesses, services etc. together to arrive at a very large number. Then one person could direct those services to insure that everyone gets a piece of the pie. Pretty simple to do without the university ever getting their hands dirty.

I Agree but he should have struck while he had more value than ever. Unless he just likes it there that much. It’s a what have you done for me lately sport. For better or worse. That’s why Mel got 95M. Bc his name was hot based off 10 games. Not bc he actually deserved it.

He is a great coach. He has turned down so many offers eventually the pursuit lessens. Not sure what he has been waiting for all these years. Maybe Oklahoma, but I don't think he high on the list.

Sobering NIL stuff handed down last night. It’s the reason…not that residual Pruitt DB recruitment jazz that’s being floated. He wants to be here but it ain’t happening unless what Swain’s preaching and what tnvol72 and Bruce Wayne are hinting at swings it back around. Gibbs + others is what got me overexcited on here.

People call it Texas because that's the beneficiary, but none of the money directly goes through the school or anyone officially associated with it. This is its own entity, Clark Field Collective. The people donating to the Clark Field Collective are Texas donors of course, but their donation to the CFC is in no way tied to the university.

The CFC will then donate money to University of Texas athletes for different services because legally there has to be a quid pro quo. In this case it'll most likely be autographs, appearances, and it'll also help pair local businesses with athletes.

So we need to find a way to outbid Bama? Damn. Hard to see that happening. Only hope is them spreading that money around so many great talents.

Part of this is in wake of Gable Steveson. I think WWE is gonna really invest in athletes that have big followings but don't have much of potential professional earnings either due to talent or sport.

Example: Gable Steveson in collegiate wrestling can make more in WWE than just competing for world and olympic titles.

Esp for teams like UT that are sleeping giants and just need that boost. Can really flip a roster and plug massive holes with this portal. Teams like Vandy though are screwed bc they can’t just enroll anyone haha Love to see it.
