How bad will it get in Georgia if Michigan beats them?
My brother finally recovered enough last night to talk to me about the game. Tried to warn him every year their downfall is to award themselves Championships before they earn them, worse than any other fanbase. They are finally realizing that while Kirby and crew are great recruiters and decent developers, they are terrible at making adjustments when it's nut-cutting time. If they lose to Michigan they are genuinely concerned it will start a gradual downward trend in the program. GO FREAKING WOLVERINES!!

Oregon 247 insider, I think he used to post here, said Kiffin has made it known to Oregon he is interested in that job. Kelly/Wilcox/Sitake we’re the early names there but seems they have died down for now. Kiffin going to take his shot at payback vs USCw?
It feels like Kififn is just a name that is thrown out there for clicks.

Well it looks like today is my last day as semi-VN insider… my guy is finishing up at UT and is heading to chiropractor school in December.. For @HoleInTheRoof …. The person DW missed was a sports medicine intern/assistant…. The reason why I didn’t have as much info on Tuesday through thursdays was bc he had classes during scheduled practice time. I may still get info from time to time due to connections he has made but nothing like before. Go Vols!

No need to go to school for that. We still need his inside information

Kiffin has no intention of being there very long in Oxford. He never has.
Miami, Oregon, UF, etc. he doesn’t necessarily care which but he just wants out to the first big time job he can get. They can’t sustain what they just did this yr esp without Lebby/Corral and a recruiting class that’s like 11th or 12th in the league.

Damn Kiffin really does want out huh? Feels like hes made that known for every single opening lol. He could probably have a ton of success out there. Originally a Pac12 guy and that conference should get a lot better with Lincoln Riley out there. Oregon needs a big time hire. Probably better for Lane to get out now before the bottom falls out in Oxford. Would be sad to see him leave the SEC though. I want another shot to beat him.

Everyone keeps talking about Kiffin taking all these jobs and yet, with all of these jobs that were open, he was never called. He was never considered. Dude is only an elite coach on VN
nobody really wants him like he thinks they do. He wanted the UF job and Stricklin was like “nah not a F’n chance”

I dont think thats true. I just think ADs are hesitant to commit to Lane long term. Its too risky. And they're probably right. He is an elite coach. But these ADs know they cant control him.

Because he had Pry there who was there before Banks. And banks was Co-DC. Did Poindexter leave penn St? He was the banks replacement as coDc. Banks was Franklin DC if he came to TN that is where Danny White got wind of Banks

Poindexter is supposedly to be going to Virginia as HC

He's a good coach, but he's not worth the headache if I'm the AD. I wouldn't want to deal with the twitter trolling and all his baggage. He doesn't win at a high enough level for that... yet. 10-2 at Ole Miss is pretty good though so if he can replicate that success again and prove it wasn't lightning in a bottle with Corral, I'd expect him to get a few calls next carousel.

We'll see how elite he is with no Lebby and no Corral. Even with them he needed all the help from SEC officiating to beat us this year with 70 players in year 1 for Heup.

I wouldn't say "elite" he's a career 65% winner and even at Ole Miss (his most successful stop) he's not even winning 70%.

He's a good coach and excellent recruiter, but until he wins something or at least plays in some P5 championship games I wouldn't call him elite.

If it happens, I hope Lincoln Riley beats him like a dog.

Wouldn't you like to be able to listen to what goes on in the backrooms of these big time schools while all this coaching and player turmoil goes on.

Oregon just had two straight coaches leave them for similar jobs. Chip Kelly left them for the NFL. No matter who they hire thats obviously going to be a possibility.

I could see them either shying away from all risk completely with a safe hire... or leaning right into the chaos of somebody like Kiffin. I mean whoever they hire will likely leave them anyways. Why not chase that ceiling and try to enjoy him for awhile?
