I think they have to, at this point. They shot themselves in the foot by not playing JT all season. Stetson has to be their guy.

All in all, he was less than spectacular in the SECCG, but that's the first time UGA has needed him to be good. The 24 points he put up would've won every other game they played this year. If they win the Natty, it won't be because of Stetson or JTD. Their defense carried them all season. It's gonna have to carry them in the next 2 games or they're toast.

Interesting. Their offense was very good. It was their defense that was questionable. Not sure what the conflict was, but I think that they will miss Whipple.

Alabama/Saban now know what to do to beat Georgia and if they meet in the finals, they will beat them again. I am not sure thay, Georgia, will beat Michigan to make it to the finals.

Exactly, IF, they manage to get past Michigan, Bama will just roll over them again. Changing QBs at this point will only make things worse. He won’t have the rhythm of the wrs, the rbs and sure doesn’t have a season of seeing a defense from that angle. Bama is not the team you want to be breaking in a new qb against.

I didn't see their WR getting a ton of separation. Although Stetson should have had a pick-6 on their first drive (dropped by Bama) and obviously had another later.

If UGA were going to phase in JT they really blew it not getting him more reps down the stretch in their regular season. They had a cupcake week 11 and GT week 12. Could have eased him in.

Maybe the under is the play in the Michigan game

You know Smart has to have it in the back of his mind that Saban made a QB change at halftime of a national championship game against him and it paid off massively.

Just wanted to share a cool story bro moment…. My guy is number 28…. It was the first time the trainers(suppose to be nerds) beat the managers(suppose to be athletes) in the annual flag football game since 2011…. The managers were pissed and one of the managers said in front of several football players stated that the only reason they lost was bc the trainers were too physical…. Tyler Baron started laughing and couldn’t stop….saying that the trainers were too physical in flag football. The football players ragged on the managers for several days.

As for the Baron rumors…. My person had heard something about that but didn’t really think it was true so I didn’t share it…. The rumor was not an issue with Tyler but the staff had a huge problem with his dad that was on staff and Tyler may go with him…. If we lose Tyler…. It will be a shame bc he has been a great teammate, person, and leader over there…. You can’t say that about most of the transfers we have had.

True. But that's a very risky move and a very different situation. Hurts/Tua doesn't exactly equate to Stetson/JT.

I dont think it matters whether or not JT Daniels was eased in or not. If hes better, then the offense will probably look good the minute he takes over.

I'm not necessarily convinced that he's better than Stetson. He might be. This is a tough scenario to have buzzing around your head going into the playoffs and also coming off your first loss.

Saban has showed time and again that hes willing to adapt on the fly when he needs to. Kirby hasnt shown that at all to this point. I would guess he ends up going down swinging with Stetson Bennett. Cause thats who he is.

Recruiting Trail

It’s been a whirlwind 24 hours for head coach Josh Heupel. Yesterday he spoke so eloquently at the funeral of his former player Otis Anderson Jr. From there he flew to Kansas for an in-home with Marquise Gilbert where he was joined by Golesh and members of the defensive staff. He continued on to Las Vegas for the college football hall of fame festivities to be there for Al Wilson.



He woke up this morning and met with Kionte Scott’s mother before flying to Utah to meet with Scott himself. Both Willie Martinez and Tim Banks are with Heupel.


Alex Golesh and Jerry Mack are in Dallas to meet with Zach Evans. If things go well the former TCU tailback will be in Knoxville this weekend.

Joey Halzle is back on the west coast seeing Nico Imaleava.


Kodi Burns is in Orlando on Wednesday to see CJ Smith and others.


Rodney Garner and Brian Jean Mary are in south Florida seeing Gabriel Jacas and Ahmad Moten. Both are set to visit Tennessee officially this weekend.


Glen Elarbee is Atlanta working Nichols, Clipper and 2023s.


Mike Ekeler is in South Carolina before heading to Georgia tomorrow to see Darren Agu.

All kidding aside, I'm sure most Bama fans crapped their pants when Saban made that move. Kirby doesn't have the balls to make a move.

Honestly Tyler is about to enter his 3rd season, if I was him I'd have a discussion with his dad man to man.

I'm pretty close to my dad, but I still have to make my own decisions for myself. Sometimes it's burned me not listening to him, and sometimes it's burnt me listening to him. But as a soon to be junior next year could be his last, and RG has improved his game as well as the rest of the DL. have a big junior campaign (which honestly should be easier with the emergence of Byron Young on the other side) and enter the draft. But leaving UT because your dad quit his job may not be the smartest move in a heavily saturated transfer portal.

And even if he did manage to land at another P5 school he would be learning a new defense/scheme/system and having to work with new teammates etc.
