This post brought to you by too much sun and beer at Fort Walton(thanks for the food recommendations)

Obviously a bit disappointed in the first game, but anyone that’s played sports knows that sometimes when you’re playing someone you’re clearly better than, you take your foot off the gas and get focused on trying to make a splash play instead of doing your job because you can get away with it. I feel like that might be what we saw against BG(which is a bit concerning on its own), but I’m not panicking yet.

For Pitt:
I still think we win, I think them getting pressure could actually be a positive and make Joe speed up.

Too on vacation to look it up but are we like 3-7 against power 5 schools in season since 2010? Just find a way to scrape out a win and it will instill confidence in me.

I’ve enjoyed watching everyone argue and complain about performance and result of game 1. For a fanbase that’s seen consistently poor QB play and up and down performances, our standards haven’t dropped at all.

I’m generally a very positive person(like the anti-Catbone), so I came away from BG encouraged that we won a game handily despite playing pretty poorly in a lot of aspects. Sky is still the limit.

Undefeated til we’re not. Go Vols! (Driving through Alabama still sucks)

Hey guys, so I’ve updated you on my car situation before but I just wanted to make sure it didn’t get overlooked, and I’ve finally recorded that thank you video in the backseat of this van on my way to a meeting 😂 sorry for the quality.

Love you guys. You raised $9,000 and we got a beautiful 2018 Prius Prime, which is the least Prius looking Prius, which is a real win for me 😆

Dang, man! I wasn't lurking on the board when all of this was going down! I'm sorry this happened to you and your family, but encouraged by those here who gave and helped you in your time of need. I truly believe that we are blessed so that we can bless others and this is definitely what happened here.

A question for all you other old farts...in your opinion what was it that held Coach Majors back from really getting over the hump?

IMO it was because of the maddeningly frustrating thing we did under him where we always seemed to be playing down to inferior opponents level. It was like he didn't know how to be a front runner.

But you've gotta take into account SEC schedule vs ACC. Us playing Pitt's schedule are we a 5 win or 7/8 win team?

That's why I think it's more on par. To me this is the closest equal team we'll get all year (maybe Kentucky being only other one closer to equal).

By about 4PM tomorrow we’ll have a better idea.

@nicksjuzunk over here trying to get us all shedding tears and what not…..

I was watching my oldest daughter when she was a baby one Saturday while my wife was out for a break. She was in her UT onesie and napping like a champ. I had just settled onto the couch and was watching the game when I heard her start crying in her room. (No live tv way back then, so I waited for a commercial break) When I went to check on her, she had dueced so hard it exploded out of her diaper, up her back, out of her onesie and was all in her hair and all over her bed. Luckily she was very small and hadn't started rolling over yet or else it would have been worse. Needless to say I missed a decent part of the game while I cleaned that whole scene before her mother got home.

Oh boy. Crossing my fingers nothing like this occurs.

Maybe so but I tell you what. If someone told me Heupel’s overall tenure would mirror Johnny’s, I’d take it.

I think one thing we could learn from his tenure is to be patient to a degree...rebuilding Tennessee from absolute devastation is hard. It was hard in the late seventies-early eighties and it will be hard today.

Missed a 6 footer for eagle today. Still have never made one. If you want to know how my day is going

I had a similar but maybe worse experience when mine was in a crib but old enough to pull herself up. Wife left for the grocery. I turned on the game while my daughter “slept” in the next room.

Heard a big thud, eery silence, then loud noise and screaming. Went in to find her on the floor with red vomit everywhere.

I flipped out.

Grabbed her up, cleaned her off, called my wife in a panic and then our pediatrician. After a night of doing concussion tests (which consisted of waking her up every two hours to watch Sesame Street and make sure she looked normal doing it) we learned she was perfectly fine. She had pulled herself up in her crib and fell out, but didn’t hurt her head. The redness in her vomit was something from lunch. The fall just caused her to spit it up.

I don’t recall which game I was watching…. But was glad she was ok.

Still wonder what she must have thought that night.

Mommy and Daddy love to get me up and watch Sesame Street!

Well, Newt was so afraid that Weezer would show up, he's not gonna take the tickets. So I have 2 and a parking pass.

Anyone?

Bingo.

The last decade has convinced me Tennessee is a place that requires stability for it to be good.

You can come in to Florida, Georgia, Bama or LSU and win big pretty quickly.

Tennessee is just different. You clearly can’t.

But I’m still convinced given time, someone could build it back…

I loved coach Majors. But the draw plays on 3rd and long killed me.

I agree. Used to drive me crazy that he was so stubborn with some things. Had players to really cut loose on offense, but always seemed to get overly conservative. Rather punt and play field position.
